CHRIS MURPHY: ANOTHER LIBERAL DEMOCRAT RUNNING FROM HIS RECORD!

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Congressman Chris Murphy appeared as a guest Sunday morning on WFSB's "Face The State" with Dennis House.
Regarding the stimulus bill, Murphy said he felt it was a success because he believed that more people would be out of work without the stimulus. Murphy blamed the failure of it here in Connecticut on the Democrats in the Connecticut legislature and their failure to either spend it fast enough or even not spending some of it at all. He said much of it is still tied up with these legislators fighting over how to spend it.
Congressman Murphy bragged that his proudest accomplishment was that he helped to "fix" health care--referring to his vote to pass Obamacare. Murphy then went on to explain to the viewers that he always listens to the people in his district by going door to door and holding town hall meetings and office hours at grocery stores, but his record speaks for itself.
During the Summer recess in August 2009, Murphy held one of these so-called office hours at the Stop & Shop in Simsbury. When he was swarmed by several hundred people, all protesting his support for Obamacare, Murphy joined many of his fellow liberal Democratic Congressmen by going into hiding for the remainder of the recess and didn't hold anymore public events. As you may recall, it was President Obama who instructed the liberal wing of Congress to avoid their constituents during that recess, and Murphy clearly followed his marching orders. There were several of us who attempted to arrange for a meeting between Murphy and seniors in New Britain to discuss the impact that the proposed Obamacare legislation would have on senior citizens, but our efforts to set up such a meeting were ignored by Murphy and his staff.
Shortly before Murphy returned to Washington to vote in favor of Obamacare, he held a closed door meeting in his New Britain office where 7 hand picked people were invited to come speak in favor of Obamacare to the reporter from the New Britain Herald. The left leaning Herald reported whatever was given them about this staged town hall event and even went along with portraying this private by invite only meeting as a "New Britain Town Hall Meeting." Clearly Murphy did anything but listen to his constituents because the same polls that showed an overwhelming majority of his district opposed passage of this bill now show that more than 70% want it repealed immediately.

The most comical part of Murphy's comments were when he proclaimed that his opponents unfairly accuse him of being a liberal and that he always listens to the people of his district, but yet his record proves he is little more than a rubber stamp for the liberal left wing agenda of Pelosi, Reid, and Obama. Murphy has already been quoted as saying that he thinks Obamacare didn't go far enough and that if he is re-elected, he promised to work to pass a far more sweeping government takeover of health care.
Murphy is clearly demonstrating that he is doing just as the national media has been reporting about liberal Democrats, and is running away from his left wing liberal record in an effort to get re-elected and get 2 more years to continue to push his extremist agenda. Since Congressman Murphy has proven his unwillingness to listen to his constituents, the best thing we can do is to make sure he doesn't get that extra 2 years to insert the government even further between you and your doctor by voting "NO" to Congressman Murphy on November 2nd.

Murphy is a rank-and-file Democrat according to GovTrack's own analysis of bill sponsorship.

Murphy is a follower according to our statistical analysis of bills in this legislative session. Murphy tends to cosponsors the bills of other Members of Congress who do not cosponsor Murphy’s own bills.

Murphy almost always votes with the agenda of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barrack Hussein Obama!

Didn't Tim O'Brien vote to give millions of stimulus dollars to Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury, Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Meriden, while giving not one dollar to New Britain?

And when he was asked why he didn't get any of the money for his own district, wasn't his answer that those cities needed it more?

Makes you wonder who this guy really represents, doesn't it???

Murphy decided to co-sponsor a house resolution — H.R. 5808_— to establish a public health insurance option.

A supporter of the public health insurance option ever since the health care debate began, Murphy said a public option, crafted to compete with private insurance on a level playing field, will provide much-needed competition in the broken health insurance market. Without the pressure to return large quarterly profits, a public health plan competing with private options would put pressure on private plans to bring their costs down; the savings would be passed along to businesses and consumers....

This is a scheme to bankrupt the private insurers because government doesn't need to make a profit and there can never be a level playing field, so they can offer services at a huge loss (taxpayer expense) as a ruse to put the private insurers out of business, and the final result will be there will be no one left but the federal government to provide health care. If you think that is good, look at the UK and Canada where waiting 2 years for permission from a bureaucrat before you can see a doctor (I can't say your doctor because you are no longer allowed your own doctor, you must take whomever the government gives you in those countries and consider yourself lucky you finally got permission to see someone). It is not unusual for Canadians and Brits to die long before that permission finally comes through, and it is a crime for a doctor to treat you privately. Yes, a doctor can go to prison for treating you without that bureaucrat's permission, and you can not pay your own way--it is a crime to compete with the federal government over health care.

This is Chris Murphy's vision for America--but he is not a liberal or a socialist!

Wasn't DeFronzo more interested in pleasing Bristol over the train to Bristol than doing anything to support the busway for New Britain?

These guys have been in too long and forget who they were elected to represent.

Repeal Obamacare! said...

Get ready for hope and change. The so-called benefits of ObamaCare don’t start until 2014. The tax increases, misallocated resources, federal regulations, and mandates start now.

Nancy Pelosi arrogantly and smugly said the night of Obamcare’s passage, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it …” The frightening part is yet to come.

Obamacare dramatically alters the already-over-regulated health insurance market. The federal government will now manage your health care decisions. The law creates a maze of mandates, federal directives, price controls, tax increases and subsidies. Obamacare gives the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services and her appointees the power to establish care guidelines that your doctor must abide by or face penalties and fines. In making doctors answerable in the federal bureaucracy this bill effectively makes them government employees.

We all begin paying Obamacare taxes this year. The law includes at least 18 new taxes and counting. As Americans begin to reap the personal financial burden of Obamacare, the movement to repeal it is mounting.

Individuals must pay an annual penalty of $695, or up to 2.5 percent of their annual income, if they don’t purchase an approved health insurance plan. Penalties on families include an annual penalty of $347 per child, up to $2,250 per family, if not an approved policy.

Repeal this awful, destructive, catastrophic law and vote out all those Democrats that voted for it. Chris Murphy, 5th district and John Larson 1st district both come to mind. Not ONE REPUBLICAN VOTED FOR IT!!! Keep that in mind on November 2nd!

How's the "Hope and Change" working out? Are we all 'happy marxists' yet?

Caligiuri: Murphy’s Support for the Financial Reform Bill a ‘Yes’ Vote to Bigger Government and Higher Taxes

“Like his support for the federal takeover of health care, Chris Murphy continues to support bigger government, higher taxes, and increasing government intrusion in people’s lives and in the private sector,” said Caligiuri. “We need financial services reform, but the bill embraced by Murphy uses the financial crisis as an excuse to further expand government and its power while doing very little to address the real causes of the financial crisis that has hurt all of us.”

Americans are being asked to choose between candidates and political parties. But the true decision we will be making—now and in the years to come—is this: Do we still want our traditional American free enterprise system, or do we prefer a European-style socialist nation at the hands of a central planner like Obama? This is a choice between free markets and managed socialism; between limited government and an ever-expanding state control of our lives; between rewarding entrepreneurs and demonizing success and destroying opportunities.

You decide.

Murphy is part of the problem, and Caliguiri is part of the solution!

According to OpenSecrest.org, many of Murphy's top donors are energy companies, health insurers, lobbyists and law firms--special interests of all kinds.

I wonder who this man will be working for when he is re-elected after taking all these huge donations from a few special interests? Certainly not you or me!

Murphy's Top 5 Donors:

Northeast Utilities $21,100 $11,100 $10,000
Travelers Companies $16,750 $12,750 $4,000
Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder $13,600 $13,600 $0
Praxair Inc $13,450 $3,450 $10,000
Silver, Golub & Teitell $11,700 $11,700 $0

Sounds like Murphy knows he is in trouble, and that is why he is running from his record like a deadbeat dad running from his child support payments:

National Research has been busy in the northeastern part of the country, as well. Even their polls, however, could not provide a lead for GOP challenger Sam Caliguiri. The internal poll, conducted last week, put second-term Democrat Chris Murphy one point ahead of Caliguiri (40-39).

When you get your increased health insurance bill, you can thank Chris Murphy for the huge increase you will be forced to pay!

Of all the policy issues that will be impacted by this year's mid-term elections, none will be affected more than President Obama's takeover of our nation's health care system. If we elect principled conservatives, we can delay the program's implementation and then repeal it when we defeat Obama in 2012. If we don't, we will lose the greatest medical system the world has ever known.

The president's experiment in government-run health care is already beginning to negatively impact American families. Some of the program's mandates, which are going into effect now, are beginning to drive up health insurance premiums. According to the Wall Street Journal, ObamaCare will force health insurers to raise their premiums in coming weeks by 1% to 9% to pay for extra benefits required under the new law. And this doesn't even count the cuts that will be made to Medicare.

This is only the beginning. For every mandated requirement there is an extra cost. One provision of ObamaCare requires insurance plans to cover children on their parent’s insurance up to the adult age of 26. Since this government mandate is likely to cost health insurers a significant amount of money, they have no choice but to pass this extra cost onto consumers.

According to Channel 3 tonight, Obama only has an approval rating of 33% in Murphy's district, and they are using Obama's basement level approval as an excuse for why Murphy's campaign is in trouble, when the truth is that he simply ignored the will of the people.
