Our View in today's Herald, 9-22-10, Seems to attack Linda McMahon's adds for attacking her opponent. She is correct in attacking her opponent with his phony declared service record that "he was spat on."
Furthermore, the view's attack of Tom Foley only proves that New Britain Herald is way out to the left with their liberal support. Conservative views of Tom need not apply to the Herald's view point as being a sincere candidate for Governor based on the editorial board's opinion.

Yes, we have freedom of the press and freedom of speech. We also have the freedom not to read or listen to the press.
The "new" owners of The Herald are no less left leaning liberals than before, possibly more so but in a more civilized manner. The Herald at this point is simply an arm of the Bristol Press. Many positive Herald editorials about Bristol and the relentless publishing by the Herald of articles featuring the Nicastro Bros. and their campaign to "kill" the Busway Project. Does the Bristol Press publish NB news as often as it produces Bristol news?
Also the Herald publishes columns by Burris and Powell from the J.I. in Manchester and from lefties like Dionne. Add an editorial like today's, "Our View" and what you have is simply another liberal rag attacking Republicans.
The ultra-liberal Herald is bent on attacking candidates like Linda McMahon and C. O'Donnell and people like Sarah Palin. And then, it attacks Linda McMahon and Tom Foley again today!
Locally, the Herald has been quick to puff up any politico that attacks our Mayor. Does anybody recall the "threat" fiasco from Phil Sherwood? Does anybody recall that the Herald kept the story under wraps for many days?
The Herald had one reporter, Jim Craven who, while an admitted liberal, tried to be balanced in his reporting. Jim's gone. Go figure.

This is exactly why I have been saying for sometime that we should all boycott the Herald. They do have the freedom to print whatever they want, at least for now, until Obama gets around to a government takeover of their industry too.
But as you point out, we also have the freedom not to read the tripe put out by the extreme left wing editor of this bird cage liner. If enough of us stopped buying their rag, it would hit them right in their pockets, so I suggest don't buy it, and don't read it online because with every hit their site gets, you are helping them increase their online advertising.
Just like a tree falling in the forest, if no one reads their propaganda, whas it ever even written?
If you recall, the online version used to have a "hit counter" on each article showing how many people read each story and even featured which story was the most read at the time. I believe the editor eliminated the counter, because it was an embarrassment just how few people actually read their rag.
Could the Herald be anti-Irish towards political candidates???
If Chris Murphy is Nancy Pelosi in a man's suit, does that make Carlozzi out to be Catanzaro in a skinny suit???
I have not subscribed to the Herald for several years. Later, I quit the Courant. I check out on line for necessary items or the obituary. They are not worth my money. I do, however subscribe to the daily WSJ.
If we all stopped subscribing, they would go bankrupt, a pleasant thought.....
I subscribe to USA Today and it is refreshing to read editorials that agree with the majority of Americans, conservatives who work hard and pay taxes, and are not looking for a free ride on someone else's dime.
I wouldn't buy a New Britain Herald even for a bird cage liner, I wouldn't force the birds to be exposed to such trash.

Carlozzi is defintely not a dumb person. At this point he apparently is reacting to the many untoward personal comments made against him on this blog.
When Candidate Foley was running for Senator Dodd's seat, he stated during a television interview that he would have voted to confirm Judge Sotomayor's nomination to the SCOTUS.
We might as well have voted to keep Dodd. At least he was a Lib Dem who called himself a Lib Dem, not a Lib Dem who claims to be a Republican, like Mr. Foley.
