I was very amazed that Mr. Schroeder and his Chief Editor Mr. Smith have accepted the New England Award without crediting the excellent work performed by James Craven during the period this award was given.

This award must be for the best one-sided liberal reporting of half the news because the Herald usually seems to slant every story to fill the liberal agenda of the editors, and if the story won't fit within their liberal agenda, they will usually ignore it.

There could be no better example of this attitude than their total failure to report a major event like the arrest of a state representative from New Britain a few months ago. The Hartford Courant reported the entire story along with a full color photo of the representative being hauled away in handcuffs by the Hartford Police. The Herald never reported anything about such a major incident involving a state representative from a New Britain district--not when it happened, and not even a mention in their continued raving coverage of his candidacy for re-election.

Could it be because the editorial staff supports this particular liberal extremist candidate, and therefore, the Herald will never report anything negative about him, no matter what?

Just imagine the never ending coverage should a similar incident have involved one of the Republican politicians in town?

Until the Herald can demonstrate reporting the news fairly, regardless of the politics involved, I'll withhold celebrating any obviously meaningless award they can boast about receiving.
