Mean Spirited Council Majority Leader.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

A resolution submitted by Phil Sherwood at last night's council meeting: Purchases from city Officials: "The purchases any supplies and contractual services from city elected officials and or an immediate family member of a city official must be reported to the common council regardless of the amount."
When questioned by Alderwoman Mary Marrocco if this resolution applied to her or her husband in the event they should make purchases from Sir Speedy? Sherwood denied her assumption was correct however, Ms. Marrocco was quick to respond "that's what it says here."
Mr. Don Naples during his Public Participation presentation that the proposal #6 by Alderman Sherwood was unfair for small businesses owners stating that all contracts are public record. He strongly suggested that the Council table this issue.
During the discussion of this matter Sherwood alluded that he proposed to add this section because these items do not come before the council and this would make it more assessable for the public as additional information.
It is quite apparent to this writer that Alderman Sherwood has submitted himself to the dictates of Bertha Lewis of the Working Families Party, through this submittal.

Jim Sanders Jr- you have alot of good thoughts and ideas. As a business owner you are just the kind of person we need on the council. I hope to see you on the ballot next November!

This proposal is as crazy as his proposal that all public officials, commissioners, and their relatives, etc fill out a disclosure form reporting all sources of income.

Is this the same people who wanted to spend an additional 1/2 million dollars on a school budget without knowing how the money would be spent?

Much of what Sherwood says or does seems to make little or no common sense.

I think it is a combination of his obstructionism, wanting to obstruct anything the mayor attempts to accomplish for the city regardless of who it may hurt in the process, combined with his apparent strange need to hear himself talk endlessly on any subject while literally saying nothing.

Does this resolution also apply to the Town of Berlin where the mayor, Adam Salina is a consultant to the Mattabassett District for $50,000 per year. Does participate in the appointments to Mattabassett Directors who voted for this plum. I think John Luddy made the motion to retain Salina's company.

What do expect when you appoint a convicted felon to the leadership of the district?

Sounds like Sherwood is attempting to destroy more city businesses. Running Wal-mart out of town apparently wasn't quite enough for him.
