John was appointed by his buddies in the General Assembly and not by the governor and yes, it does require legislative approval which is all but guaranteed.

the commies are comming said...

Requiring the approval of this legislature is a joke. They will be a rubber stamp for any socialist measure the head commie wants to ram down the rest of our throats.

You should be thinking of getting out of this state before these radicals totally destroy this state.

Connecticut has failed as a free American state and shouldn't be bringing down the rest of America with its warped and diseased politicians, its jackbooted socialism, and its bankrupt Soviet style economic policies. This new regime of socialists are only going to bring it down even further.

Does Geraghosian have a degree in accounting or finances that would qualify him for that position?

He managed to qualify as a state legislator for a state pension and will work for a second one as an auditor. I believe that his wife may be eligible for another state pension.

He did absolutely nothing to help education in our city during these very bad times. Now, watch him while he moves out of the city in order that his child will not have to attend the school district that he did not help!

This type gets by due to the ignorance of the uneducated Democrats and the equally ignorance of the local Republican party who are not smart enough to stop them.

Happy New Year to all Frank Smith Says NB viewers.
Congratulations to both Don DeFronzo and John Geragosian for being selected by Governor Malloy to serve in non-legislative positions. Whether you agree or not with their policies, views, votes, or agendas, it is still an honor to be highly regarded by the governor of our state.
We all will have massive challenges in 2011. Businesses are still struggling, the federal government is out of money, Connecticut is out of money, our taxpayers are out of jobs and have no more money. Hopefully NOW all elected officials will realize Connecticut has a SPENDING problem not a revenue problem.

Happy New Year.
