Assumption of Power!

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

At the special Council meeting held on 1-13-11 it appeared that Alderman Trueworhty has assumed the powers of both seats that of President Pro Tempore and Majority Leader since he sat in the Majority Leader's seat right next to the Mayor's during this special meeting.

Could the Appointment of Alderperson Eva Magnuszewski as the council's new Majority Leader be in name only and that Trueworhty has assumed both powerful seats with his seating directly next to the mayor in the seat that belongs to the Majority Leader and not in the seat where he belongs as the President Pro Tempore?

Could this have occurred under the sanctions of the DTC chairman John McNamara and/or that of the former State Representative, David Pudlin, the City's real political Democratic Boss in the background.

Why else would they give such an important appointment to a mush brain like Eva M?

Can you say Rubber Stamp?

Eva is typically quiet, so Trueworthy may be in control of what she may say at Council Meetings

When they always referred to her as Eva M. I always wondered what the M stood for, now I know it is Mushbrain!

Sounds like they found the perfect puppet to be operated by puppeteer Little Mack.

Eva's lips will be moving, but it will actually be little mack who will be speaking.

What power? A 15 watt light bulb is brighter than this dimwit.

Michael Douglas as President Andrew Shepherd: "we've had Presidents who were beloved who couldn't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight"

Whoever wrote this line into the script must have known our very own Eva!

Mike Trueworthy is a pathetic soul; he is Mayor Pro Tem because he controls 11 Votes on the Council. His control is based solely on this fact. Actually, he has nothing whatsoever to offer the people of NB. Like McNamara the lesser, Sherwood, O'Brien and others, he has no New Britain portfolio and no legacy of doing anything for all the people of New Britain. His allegiances are strictly to the extreme left wing socialists of the NB Democrat Party. Behind the scenes is all time, nasty ultra left wing hater, former NB state legislator, Dave Pudlin, who is also Trueworthy's "boss." These miscreants control the big city votes by offering plenty of entitlements that others (bona fide taxpayers) provide.

Too bad New Britain, you reap what you have sown.

In declaring his candidacy for the vacant 6th District State Senate seat on January 7th 2011, Mayor Tim Stewart said at his announcement he "would not rule out the possibility of keeping both jobs" if elected to the Senate. The NB Charter allows him to do it...the key word in NB Charter is definition of word "occupation 'pertaining to court law.

While NB Mayor Stewart may want to hold both elective offices, Mayor and State Senator, and the salaries that go with them, the New Britain City Charter Article V. Section 5 states:

"The Mayor shall devote the full time necessary to the duties of the office and shall have no other "occupation" during the term of office and shall keep the office open during such hours of each business day as the Ordinances of the City shall direct."

OCCUPATION: An activity that serves as one's regular source of livelihood; profession, vocation.

John McNamara said Gerratana has also been a leader for honest government serving on New Britain’s Ethics Commission.

Mr Mc Namara, was the son of this so-called champion of ethics following his mother's example when he was living in Berlin while continuing to serve on the New Britain city council, or when he admittedly abused a state computer while on the taxpayers' psyroll to post defamatory attacks on local blogs against the mayor of New Btitain?

I guess his mother must have taught him well!

Please, whoever you are, read what you wrote and what you quote. Does never having a real job - other than feeding at the public trough - count as an occupation. All you need to be a politician is to be able to get elected! Look at the members of the NB Common Council, need I say more.

And, what does, "... the full time necessary ... " mean?
