Why is the first urge to tax?

Spending got us into the problem. Anti-wealth creation politicians, their "where's the beef" rhetoric, their anti-business legislation and taxes, caused people to leave Connecticut.

Forcing hotels to charge their guests a huge hotel tax on top of the already incredibly high rates these hotels are force to charge due to the cost of doing business in Connecticut is really going to make tourists flock to Connecticut, isn't it?
