Fundraiser Held For Tim Stewart's Senate Campaign

By: Frank Smith

A Fundraiser for Mayor Stewart's Senate campaign was held Friday evening at the New Britain VFW Post. It was an amazing turnout completely filling the entire hall. For most of the evening it was standing room only, and even then it was difficult to find an open space to stand due to the size of the crowd.

I enjoyed the opportunity to see so many old friends, Republican, Democrat and Independent, all coming together in support of such a worthy candidate.

The event began with a spectacular food service, followed by a chance to hear Mayor Stewart address the enormous crowd in attendance.

The Mayor began by thanking the many Connecticut Mayors, State Senators, Representatives and local New Britain officials for attending. The Mayor then spoke to the crowd regarding his vision for the future of Connecticut and his plans to work hard with his soon to be colleagues in the legislature in order to find solutions for the serious fiscal problems facing our state. The Mayor's comments were well received by the crowd, as many times he had to pause for the cheering and applause.

The evening closed out with live entertainment.

In all my years of political involvement, I can honestly say this was the largest turnout I have ever seen for a political fundraising event. It was an honor to be in attendance for such an important event.

Frank,
Great article! I agree with you about the unbelievable size of the event. You forgot to mention how the VFW parking lot was overloaded, and the VFW personnel had to start directing overflow parking to Schaller's parking lots. What a turnout!

Frank, you are right. I have been omvolved in polotocs for several decades and have never seena murnout of such magnitude. The people that were there were many democrats, EVEN members pf th dems. town committee, former elected dempcrract officials.
There had to be at least 300 people.
GO TIM !!!!!!!!!!

YOUR COUNT IS A LITTLE UNDERESTIMATED----- IT MORE LIKE 1200 OR BETTER---IT WAS PACKED--

I was impressed with the number of Democrats turning out in support of Tim Stewart: Town Committee Members, Elected Officials, etc.

And that is not counting those of us who could not make it and sent a check to Lisa Carver.

Sounds like the dems don't want the same old, same old.

Gerranta is Defronzo in a skirt.
She is in there to protect the unions and all of their fat pensions which are bringing our state down.

If anyone can pull off this victory for the republicans, it is Tim Stewart.

This truly was the Grand Old Party at it's best!!
Hats off to all who attended...many best wishes to Tim Stewart, and to the well behaved, congenial crowd!
Thanks for the great evening!!

Glad to see our friends from Berlin and Farmington showed up in big numbers. (And a small busload from Bristol, too.)

I was really amazed when I saw that bus pull up and start unloading. What a crowd!

Rumor has it that Adam Salina might run against Terry Gerrantana.

The question rises, can Adam beat Tim. Interesting turn of events....

SALINA DOESN'T HAVE THE MANAGEMENT SKILLS THAT TIM STEWART HAS BECAUSE ADAM HAS A TOWN MANAGER WHAO MAKES ALL THE MAJOR CALLS FOR HIS.

Isn't it fun to sit back and watch the socialist Democrats attacking each other, constantly at each others throats!

The Republicans have united behind one solid candidate, while the Democrats show their selfishness, all wanting that Senate seat for themselves--proving once again, for Democrats it is usually "what is in it for me?"

If you don't believe me, watch all the backstabbing that will soon take place once Tim Stewart becomes Senator and the Democrats all start trying to outdo each other over who will be the next Mayor!

Comedy Central couldn't write a script that would deliver more entertainment that the radical Democrats are about to deliver.

This is pure B******T and whoever put this one out there knows it. Although, I believe Adam would make a more interesting candidate than Gerratana. He has more viable connections, he's young and has a brighter future.

Gerratana is a "has been" who owns many closet skeletons.

Hey lenni or Richie or Rick or whomever you are, you're just another liberal troublemaker trying to tarnish the Mayor once again. When are you idiots going to get it? He hasn't done anything wrong as much as you've tried to make it look that way. I say keep on going Tim, you have alot of support! Especially from disgusted democrats like myself!
I was there Frank, and the crowd was probably north of 400 total. It is also my understanding that they raised over $14k in one night and qualified for the Citizens Election Fund. Quite an accomplishment in 1 event!
And leave Lisa Carver out of any discussions. She has more brains in her little toe than the entire democratic town committee!

How is Lisa feeling ?

Hey Lenni you really have set the bar pretty low here. Can you say scumbag? Take a look in the mirror and try and justify your comments. You probably should go to confession soon, or have you ever stepped foot in a church in your life. I seriously doubt it!

Hey Lenni (is that short for Lenin? you're hero no doubt)

Thanks for your concern about my health. Sorry to disappoint you and your liberal friends, but I'm going to be around for a while. You should read something other than NB Politicus once in a while so you would realize that breast cancer is no longer a death sentence.

And no I would never run for State Senate, although I'm flattered that you thought to mention me as a possible contender.

I would however, consider a run in the 26th so that maybe my good friend Tony Tercyak could finally rest in peace. Now that I see how great the Citizens Election Program works (thanks to your fellow socialists DeFronzo and O'Brien)I just might.
