Isn't this Phil Sherwood's seat?

Great move for Phil since he always believed that the Hispanics should be the chosen candidates in all instances.

Phil should be overjoyed, especially since he has advocated in the past that political seats, much like management jobs at Walmart, should go to Hispanics.

First, Phil is only kissing ass so he can get back on the council. And second, its nice that they declare who's running even tho no town committees have nominated anyone yet for either seat.

...just when I thought Sherwood couldn't be a bigger laughing stock in town.

Anyone ever get the sense that half of these posts are Frank himself? The posts sound like the bitter rantings of an old man with only numbered days left.

Frank, is that you?

What will become of Phil Sherwood? He is no longer on the council, and claims he isn't running for state rep. Is he planning on petitioning Terry Gerratana for the State Senate? Don't do it, Phil...she's extremely popular, you don't have a chance against her, nor do you have a chance against Tim Stewart, with your record of hostility to our popular Mayor.

The post above is the kind of crap that fuels crazy people to "action." Is it a veiled threat?

Commenter #6; do you feel that Frank wrote this himself?

Bobby Sanchez has employed the same method as DeFranzo did in 2002 to keep from being "Hatched", to wit, have HRA give him a different title - did you all see it? - so he can run for Geragosian's seat. Phil must feel great since someone used his brand of trickery to "one up" him.

Sanchez is now going to promote fatherhood at HRA. MEMO to Sanchez - guys already know how to do that. OH, I'm sorry he didn't mean that part of fatherhood!

Anybody, with whom is Terry Gerratana popular? What is her background? What has she done? Oh. she and her husband appeared at the NBMAA last Friday. I've been going there for years and it's the first time I've ever seen her there! I wonder why?

With all the hostility Sherwood has created against so many in town through his childish grand standing, you think Frank would have to manufacture negative comments about him?

Just ask any of the 50 plus people who were in attendance at the last town committee meeting what happened when he found out that he wasn't getting what he wanted?

You might find that story even better than the time he kicked the door because one of his minions on the council wouldn't submit to his every wish.

FRANK, sounds like some liberal loon has sour grapes because your site is so popular. I see this as being similar to the liberals who come unglued at the fact that Fox News is the most watched news source in America. They gripe and moan about that too, but usually on MSNBC where no one knows about it because no one is watching since at any given time Fox has about 1,000 times the viewers of MSNBC. More people watch Fox than all of their competition combined, and on this last election night, more people watched Fox for the election results than the 3 so-called broadcast news networks.

In conclusion, you are in good company, because if liberals are whining and complaining, it means you are doing a good job for the rest of America, or at least the rest of New Britain!

In declaring his candidacy for the vacant 6th District State Senate seat on January 7th 2011, Mayor Tim Stewart said at his announcement he "would not rule out the possibility of keeping both jobs" if elected to the Senate. The NB Charter allows him to do it...the key word is definition of word "occupation'' in court law.

While NB Mayor Stewart may want to hold both elective offices, Mayor and State Senator, and the salaries that go with them, the New Britain City Charter Article V. Section 5 states: "The Mayor shall devote the full time necessary to the duties of the office and shall have no other "occupation" during the term of office and shall keep the office open during such hours of each business day as the Ordinances of the City shall direct."

OCCUPATION: An activity that serves as one's regular source of livelihood; profession, vocation.

FRANK SMITH DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE IN A CHILDISH, WHINING MANNER. YOU NEED TO FIND A LIBERAL LOON DEMOCRAT FOR THAT!

What happened to Mayor Salina and his buddy John Luddy who is on the Mattabassett? Did they have a falling out, so now the mayor is trying to take away Luddy's power by pulling out of Mattabassett?

Interesting.

The Chairman of the NB DTC moon writing like a Deputy Court Reporter stated on DTC Blog that New Britain requires nothing less than a full-time mayor to manage a $220 million budget and "keep the office open " and that the last revision of the city charter gave even more powers to the executive branch, making moonlighting at the State Capitol a stretch when the charter states "no other occupation".

ONE COULD ARGUE THAT IT IS NOT ANOTHER OCCUPATION AS YOU PUT IT, BUT THE MAYOR SIMPLY PURSUING THE BEST INTERESTS OF NEW BRITAIN, THEREFORE FULFILLING HIS DUTIES AS MAYOR BY SECURING FOR HIS CITY THE BEST FUNDING AVAILABLE--SOMETHING THE DEMOCRATS HAVE FAILED TO DO, YEAR AFTER YEAR. WAS IT NOT GERAGOSIAN WHO SAID HE VOTED TO GIVE NEW BRITAIN'S MONEY TO NEW HAVEN, STAMFORD, WATERBURY, HARTFORD ETC, BECAUSE HE SAID THEY NEEDED IT MORE, LEAVING MANY OF US WITH THE QUESTION: WHO DOES GERAGOSIAN REPRESENT?
