Larry could learn a thing or two from reading this editorial. Then again, probably not!
As an employee of the Parks & Rec Dept, Paul Catanzaro would be ineligible to be on the NB Common Council; there are rumors he wants to run for Mayor of New Britain...ingstiff
Isn't Shirley Black a crossing guard? Doesn't Centeno work work for the school board?
In fact, don't the majority of the council members work for the city in another capacity--collecting 2 pay checks while the rest of us struggle to pay the ever increasing taxes they love to increase?

In addition to Catanzaro, Centeno and Black, Alderwoman Collins works for the Water Dept., Larry Hermanowski is paid an additional $1000 to serve in the Democrat Registrar's Office, Mike Trueworthy gets an additional $1000 to serve as Mayor Pro Tem of the Council and Dave DeFronzo is a full time teacher in New Britain Public Schools.
Trueworthy works as a "sessional" employee at the State Legislature ($$$ - ??)
Why do we even need these commissions?
So, how many directors, managers and employees are associated with these narrow, self-serving special-interest commissions and what is their combined annual budget?
The Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, the Latino & Puerto Rican Affairs Commission, the African-American Affairs Commission, and the Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission."
Why do we even need these commissions and why isn't Gov. Malloy proposing their elimination?

Commission on Racial And Ethnic Disparity in the Criminal Justice System
Properties Review Board
Ombudsman for Property Rights
Office of Military Affairs--separate from the Dept of Veterans Affairs
Council on Environmental Quality--separate from the DEP
Developmental Services Department--separate from the Council on Developmental Disabilities
Connecticut Siting Council
Office of the Business Advocate
Commission on Children--separate from DCF
Here's the best one:

And y'all wonder why you can't pay your bills?
