Before mediation occurs, meembers of the Council need to follow the rules they set forth. Watch the replays on Nutmeg. A person is presenting information, an alderman is having a private conversation during the presentation only to ask the the question just answered. Who is rude and unprofessional? Who accused the Hearld of printing what they wanted, did their information come from the air? As a resident I am embarrased by what I see.

Frank:

Must be a slow news day for Don Stacom of the Courant when he listens to any of the putrid thoughts emanating from John McNamara.

The only problems on the NB Common Council were created by Council Democrats. The problems go back to 2003 when Stewart was first elected Mayor. In his first term, Mayor Stewart had a Council composed of all Democrats, including the infamous, Rick Lopes. Democrats tried to restructure the Council to mirror the state legislature; they created five subcommittees which they would find to be unwieldy and soon had to reduce the number to three. They (Triueworthy and Bielinski) hired a "Council Auditor" who had to resign when it was found that the auditor was bilking the City out of thousands of dollars. Then came the Council with Sherwood, Gerratana and Trueworthy and Bielinski. Gerratana had to leave after one term, you remember why. Then came the Sherwood/Trueworthy Council (without Bielinski); I won't list all of their shenanigans - that would take three pages- including their attempt to hire Attorney Steve Mednick with a "no-bid" ($20,000) contract to sue the Mayor. Now that Sherwood is gone and Sylvia Cruz had to retiure, we have Manny Sanchez and Dave DeFronzo and the problems continue. This is all old stuff, but make no mistake, all of it was engineered by Democrats, especially the DTC Chair (McNamara, State Rep. O'Brien and others).

McNamara wants to blame Stewart and the four Council Republicans for this? What a joke!

The current "no-bid contract" fiasco was started by Sherwood, continued by Trueworthy and now is continuing with newly appointed Alderman, DeFronzo at the helm at tonight's Council meeting. In the end, the truth shall prevail. More revelations to come, keep watching.

The NB Council of Democrats are advancing a measure that would compel officials to make public monthly reports on any city work they've awarded to companies owned by the mayor or council members. Democrats describe their goal as making government more transparent.

Republicans say the move is a disguised smear of GOP council members Willie Pabon and Mark Bernacki, whose companies do business with the city, Bernacki
said he sees no point in mediation.

The only people that need mediation is the Democrats Frank! They continue to try and make the Common Council a bully pulpit for their accusations of impropriety against this administration only to be proven untrue time and time again. Nothing but a bunch of stupid children trying to play an adults game! The city would be better off without them!

What business does the Mayor own? How many members of the council are receiving two paychecks from the city? How many give back to the community? Should all the business the city does go to people who have businesses out side the city? please answer.Transpaency for all or none.

That's what you get when you appoint members who are so young that they haven't finished school, have yet to hold a job, and the only accomplishment even the party leader can cite for their appointment is the street that they live on.

Hard to believe, but he was even more inexperienced than Obama was when he was elected.
