It is rumored that Tim O' has presented legislation that would transfer time worked at the state level to transfer to a municipality as it relates to
retirement benefits.
So, if you change from a state position and take a municipal position the state time will count towards your municipal retirement?
I have looked over the online bills site but so far could not locate this, has anyone been able to find the exact house bill?

This benefit already exists, provided the municipality is in the MERF retirement system, which New Britain is. Read sec. 7-442b.
The bill concept does not exist. The bill you may be thinking about is the one that would pool the State and City/Town health care benefits with the goal of saving money through bulk purchasing and economies of scale.
of course that is assuming O'Brien is actually able to read it.
It's bill HB-5589 and Tim O'Brien introduced it himself in January to butter his bread in anticipation
of winning the mayoral election here in NB. This bill is specifically targeted towards elected officials.
Democrats and Republicans alike should be certain to elect a hometown mayor and NOT a carpetbagger like Tim O'Brien.
maybe he couldn't read it because the sweat from his slimy palms made the ink run off the page?
Frank the bill in question allows municipalities to give elected officials more pension dollars should they accumulate more time as officials than the 20 years in the city charter. This would allow the cities to enact ordinances not charter provisions to modify pensions for elected offisials as they wish. Run for the hills folks these idiots will give themselves whatever they can get for free!
