Anonymous said...: The CT Dem controlled legislature still has to approve the budget. In the end they will lessen any union concessions, and taxes will go even higher. The CT Dems know who owns them. Malloy will shrug and say he tried and tried!.

Anonymous said...: If it really is a shared sacrifice, then why doesn't Governor Malloy do the right thing and sell the Governor's luxurious mansion which would also eliminate the need for all the full time domestic staff. (personal chef, butler, maid, housekeepers, groundskeepers, etc).

Vermont has never provided their governor with any sort of residence. Some Vermont governors have either had to commute from their own home, and some have made do with rented apartments (at their own expense) in downtown Montpelier.

If Vermont can do it, why can't we?
