Sadly, the New Britain Herald head line stated, that "Captain Matthew Tuttle commits suicide."

Our Thoughts and prayers are with his family members.

It is truly a shame to lose a police officer who has served our community honorably for 26 years. My condolences to his family and his fellow officers. Police officers give so much of themselves in so many ways and yet too often we take them for granted.

I never even met Capt. Tuttle, but the way his demise was treated by the Herald leads me to believe he might have been a Republican simply because this is the same radical rag that didn't even find it newsworthy to report the arrest of a Democratic State Representative from New Britain, apparently simply because he was a fellow Democrat, while at the same time the Hartford Courant featured a full color photo of the state representative being hauled away by the Hartford Police in handcuffs.

Every day the Herald continues to show their radical extremist stripes, even to the point of capitalizing on the tragic death of a police department leader simply because they clearly didn't like his politics.

To suggest that the Herald is worthy only for use as toilet tissue would be insulting to plumbing fixtures citywide.

I was engaged to this man. He was honorable, caring, and most of all a excellent officer thru and thru. I am truly sad to hear of this.
