What a shame,Out with the old Tim and in with the new
This is devastating news for New Britain.
Without Tim Stewart to keep the city moving in the right direction by keeping the radical socialist Democrats in check, Democrats will now move in and totally destroy this city with one socialist program after another, and to pay for it, one massive tax increase after another.
After all, anyone who owns property needs to expect to share his/her wealth with those less fortunate, so get ready to have your wealth spread around!

Good luck to the citizens and taxpayers of the proud city of New Britain, you'll need it. We have no crystal ball, but we foresee tough days ahead if you get O'Brien or Catanzaroas as Mayor. Tax & spend, tax & spend
This is absolutely devestating news for the future of New Britain. During such trying times, the city will be losing the only man who was able to bring sense to city hall. The radicals will no doubt be tripping over each other for a chance to take over and push their liberal extremist agenda onto the entire city
It is a VERY sad day for New Britain. I am very disappointed to see that Mayor Stewart is not seeking re-election. He is a GREAT mayor and He will be sorely missed.
The problem is that while residents overwhelmingly supported Stewart, many of those same voters never bothered to vote for the Council members on Stewart's slate. Instead they gave Stewart an extremely leftist and radical Board of Alderman to cotend with. Hopefully, voters will not make that same mistake again with the next Republican candidate.
Thank you, Tim Stewart for being a man of character and integrity. Not all of CT mayors can make that statement.
You had a difficult time with the nerds on the Common Council but found a way to work around them. It had to take its toll.
You will go down as one of New Britain's finest mayors. Thank you. You are going out on top.

The term "nerds" usually denotes a higher level of intelligence. Considering the obstructionist Democrats currently on the Council, that term is probably not appropriate. Dunderheads is more apt.

Go to the next council meeting and look at the dopes on the Democratic side of the table. You won't find enough combined brain power to light a 3 watt bulb even among the ones who are awake during the meeting.
Hopefully, Mark Bernacki will decide to run for Mayor.He has the smarts, poise, integrity and concern for the City of New Britain and its residents that neither Catanzaro nor O'Brian have...
And he's good looking to boot!

For your information: Mark Bernacki is a lifelong resident/NB downtown business owner who has spent over twenty years involved in NB politics in various capacities. Similarly, Mark's wife and children are lifelong NB residents. What are you smoking sir and who put you up to this ?

The real carpetbagger is Tim O'Brien-----ha came from Manchester and his aka is Carpetbagger--------
Changing from Democrat to Republican was a wise move for Mark Bernacki..
Watching the Council meetings on cable, he makes sense in his comments, whereas the Democrats just ramble on and on, being argumentative with the Mayor and the 4 Republicans on the council.
