" You know, you've got to love The Herald. Where else can you find a paper that has a large photo on the front page showing a family enjoying a picnic on a school day in a park and, have that photo surrounded by headlines reading, "Shall we dance?" and, "Web of deceit" ? Interesting juxtapositioning! Lisa Backus' story is her usual record of reporting as to what's on the police blotter with the emphasis on bashing republicans, if possible. You may remember that last summer, Lisa also wrote the story about Phil Sherwood's fictitious charge of a physical threat against him by the Mayor - actually, former Herald writer, Jim Craven investigated but Lisa got the byline. In this case, a NB man is accused of "criminal impersonation" of former Dem Alderman, Phil Sherwood. Actually, what's the difference between that and Phil posing as a NB "Councilor" for a few years? I guess it's that Phil's penchant for impersonating the truth, he did himself. I guess, famous biographers like Doris Kearns Goodwin and comic impersonators like Rich Little and Tina Fey had better be careful. In the summer of 2010, a part time (elections only), paid, Dem person working for the NB Dem Registrar of Voters Office tried to impersonate a former Dem politico at a Corbin Ave. polling place. No arrest, no report from Lisa Backus and The Herald. Again, I guess it's a different situation when Dems are involved. So and by the way, would somebody please explain the difference as to why, one situation is chargeable as "criminal impersonation" and in the other, no harm done!!! Perhaps because one wasn't reported to the police! OH! "
All political candidates are egual but Dem candidates are more equal than others. Watch it, a parody of George Orwell!
Lou, This is the same paper that didn't report the arrest of a New Britain State Representative when the Hartford Courant published a full color photo of him being hauled away in handcuffs by the Hartford Police.
With exception for a handful of fellow zealots who share the editorial staff's liberal extremism, the majority of the public is rejecting their one sided reporting. Why do you think the rag is floundering so badly?
Mr. Carillo has been accused at this point. However, with the proof in the web-site one must ask, why a person would do this? We watched Greg Garantana pulling this kind of computer assault from his position at the state capitol.
The difference is that Gerrantana was abusing a state computer and getting paid by the taxpayers to do it. Since he is a Democrat, he not only didn't lose his job, he most likely got a promotion for a job well done!
