As to the delay, Tuesday night's meeting ended very late. It was felt that there was not enough time to notify all involved that a new resolution would be added to the agenda. Now adding an item to the agebda at the "last minute" has been done before, that practice is frowned upon.

Common Council meeting agendas are delivered to Council members usually on the Friday preceeding the actual meeting. Hoping this suffices as an explanation.

That is understandable Lou. However wasn't the whole council, mayor and corporation council there on Tuesday night ? Who else would have needed to be notified ? I agree, a last minute addition to the agenda is not a good thing . In this case though everyone was up to speed. I only ask out of curiosity.

Respectfully
Commissioner Henry S Zembko

Henry and whomever is reading this blog, there was never the intent to put this issue before the CC last night is was always scheduled for the meeting on the 22nd because of the public notice requirements for the zone change. All papers have gotten it wrong once again! What if it had failed the Zoning Committee? Or the City Plan vote? That is why it was not intended for last night.

Thank you very much for the clarification Mayor Stewart. HZ

Besides, it will give Democrats more time to find a way to stop this evil rich corporation.

Wait until Costco finds out that based on history, elected Democrats are no doubt going to try to dictate to them what race/ethnicity their store managers must be under threat of radical pickets and protests by the very people that were elected to represent them as taxpayers in the same way that Democrats drove Walmart and their 150 jobs out of the city for good.

Makes you wonder how Costco upper management would plan to move to such a radical socialist (communist) city?

They keep touting the fact that the 2nd largest retailer in America is moving to New Britain, but the 2nd largest retailer obviously never researched why the nations 1st largest retailer recently fled this same city like a rat jumping off a sinking ship?

Perhaps if this location doesn't work out, they might consider moving to the Walmart store that has been vacant for 3 years. All they would need to do is cut the 10 foot high weeds growing through the parking lot.

I don't believe this will ever happen despite the good will efforts of many involved. Once the tree hugging liberals get involved, they will pull all sorts of nonsensical B.S. to block any construction that will tear down even one of their beloved trees.

Just watch and wait for the games to begin.
