New Britain Police Chief's Statement

In response to Officer's Elias's complaint, which appeared in today's Hartford Courant, Police Chief William Galliard stated that the officer has never complained to his supervisors regarding the statements he made the Hartford Courant reporter.

Exactly,Mr. Chief. Probably because he was worried about retribution. Look at all the other complaints. The general theme of the complaints was that they were treated unfairly after speaking up. Your comment to the press Mr. Chief should be that you will do everything in your power as the Chief to address the concerns of your fellow officers whether legitimate or not.

In my opinion, for their to be so many unresolved issues in one department, it reflects poorly on the management style of the man in charge. While the chief may have done well combating crime in the city, it would seem he needs help dealing with the people who report to him. Credit where credit is due.

Credit for using the media to try and gain an advantage in your personal lawsuit against the city? That's what assholes and bad employees do! If they don't like where they work then go somewhere else and do less than they do in NB! Bunch of crybabies in PD!
