THE RETIREMENT OF OFFICER LARRY OAKLEY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY THE PUBLIC HE SERVED.

I first met officer Oakley at the New Britain Diner many year ago and found him to be pleasant and concerned with everyone's problems.

I continued to witness his continued desire to serve the public. I recall his talking of retiring until the Police Chief presented him with a new toy "The Sedway."

Larry enjoy your retirement.

I've seen Larry on patrol often over the years..he was pleasant but also had a watchful eye on what was going on around him. He will surely be missed.
Best wishes...enjoy your retirement, Larry.

This is a sad day for New Britain, but Oakley definitely deserves to enjoy his retirement. He was the perfect model for the police force. I hope others try to follow in his footsteps.

I hope the officer who replaces Oakley in this assignment is just as conscientious and that the chief doesn't give the downtown beat to someone who is just putting in their time until retirement.
