Tradionally,one of the Republican candidates is dumped. Although many of Jim Sander's detractors think that it is time for him to throw in the towel, remember that leaves the BOE with Erin Stewart who is totally unqualified to serve on the BOE. She has done nothing to earn her stripes.

I plan to vote for Sanders and Mercier. Period.

Throw in thow om the towel? Are you on drugs? The most vibramt on the BOE member other than Saavedra.
I have knpwn for many years and kmow he just isn't ready. Maybe those detecters should do a little time on the BOE.

He has done more than the remaining members combined. I cbbot believe that any person would like not to see the coach on the BOE. He is the best !

There is a person that keeps harping/carping about Erin Stewart's qualifications. Why doesn't this person divulge what he/she knows. Erin is was an accomplished student. She is also a good thinker. On the current Common Council there is a young man Named Sanchez (22 or 23 yrs. old). What does anybody know about his qualifications other than he lives in NB?

Why doesn't somebody complain or ask any current BOE member, whom they revere, or all those running for office how they would "deal" with the current boondoggle facing the School Administration where hundreds of thousands of dollars must be paid out to Special Ed teachers whose classes were oversubscribed - in theory according to state law, based on the original roster count - and who must be paid for every student over a certain number. In reality, these teachers probably had fewer students attending class daily than the maximum "allowed."

What do our current, veteran BOE members saying about this situation. Answer? NOTHING!

IF Erin Sterart wins she should thank her father (the Mayor). IF sje loses she shpu;d thank her father (the Mayor). The poor girl. She is beteeen a rock and a hard place.

What has she done ? What does she plan for the BOE ? Will her father be giving his advice as to what to say? What experience does she have ? The choice is clear.

I am a Democrat and I am voting for Sanders. He has outlasted them all. He keeps getting elected because he is honest and straight forward - he pulls no punches.

The commenter (above) is smoking something different from ordinary tobacco. Or if you look at the second paragraph, drinking something other than root beer.

And, look at the questions! WHAT DOES SHE PLAN FOR THE BOE????? Or, is there something wrong with getting information/advice from one's father who once served on the BOE?

Cowards like the poster who continues to question Erin's ability to serve the BOE are found too often on your site Frank. I bet they regularly post on the Herald site as well.
She has done more for her city that most people I know twice her age. Public service is something that was instilled in her at a very young age I'm sure and I compliment her for attempting the elected service route. What we need is more people like her to get involved and then the old hacks that have done very little for NB but complain will finally fade away!
And more importantly learn how to spell and type!

Just what has Erin Stewart done for the city? Could you let us all in on what she has done for the community and for education? We would like to give her a fair chance.

Perhaps, her father could give her dated advice. This position is a lot harder than being on the Council.

Was that the same Dr. that supported handing out birth control pills like Chicklets to all the school children and also wanted teachers to arrange abortions for any school children who wanted them and it would have been none of the parents business if their daughter was to get 10 abortions.

As I recall, the parents would never be allowed to even know because the school would arrange the abortions for the girls and it would be none of the parents business or concern how many abortions their daughters were to have?

Liberals apparently believe you have no right to know if your 12 year old gets an abortion. Who do you think you are anyway to interfere with your daughter's right to have all the abortions she wants or spit out all the babies she wants anyway? It sounded to me like if the liberals got their way, the schools were going to turn into one giant love fest with kids having sex everywhere and getting all the pregnancies terminated over and over again.

How much experience have any candidate for the first offfice they ran for had? Erin Stewart is a bright young woman as dedicated to New Britain as her dad; she would be an asset to any office she runs for.
