FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:
An informed source at city hall reported that the Alderman Trueworthy and his Democratic minions will block an increase for the police station bonding at the next council meeting. Allegedly, after Tim O'Brien becomes Mayor, they would then approve this proposed increase request for the project.
Trueworthy's reward would be to be the heir apparent to O'Brien's vacated legislature seat.
We all can recall that Phil Sherwood thought he would be rewarded with Representative Geragosian's seat, too.
This puzzling scenario is a result of Michael's recent meeting with a city official with whom he indicated of the Democrats plan, which was never reported to the mayor's office subsequently, by this official.
My city hall source further indicates that Alderman Trueworthy will be certainly be surprised when he learns that he will not get a free ride to O'Brien's legislative seat because someone else has "HER" eye on it.
None other than Sharon Beloin -Saavedra.
That is also is scary; except Sharon speaks "coherently."

If all you say is true - given the record of the Dem's actions over the past 8 yrs., I don't doubt it - then Trueworthy goes down in my book as the most despicable person ever to occupy a seat on the Common Council. The other Council Dems should throw him out of office.
When the City Official with whom he met becomes known both should be censured and removed from office for hindering the Mayor. If there is such a thing as Municipal Treason, this is it!
Surely, Mayor Stewart must know who is the city official.
OMGoodness! Now the worst part of the entire situation is intelligent, hardworking persons actually contribute to these crimes by paying taxes to the city.

Costco on Tuesday night 09/06/11 vowed to keep out of Stanley Park, but wants the Council to rezone land along Hartford Road to allow retail development, and also to authorize Mayor Timothy Stewart to sell part of the city-owned Stanley golf course to Costco.
This is a vastly different plan from what you proposed three months ago, council President Michael Trueworthy told Costco. I want you in town, I want the jobs, I want the tax base. Your Plan "B" is a win-win for the city.
As usual, Trueworthy puts the good of the city on the back burner, putting his own agenda above anything else that might be for the good of New Britain's citizens.Trueworthy is about as an unappropriate name for this council member!
New Britain voters revolt!! Vote this guy out of office in November!!

If the leaders of Costco have any sense they will pick up their store and move it to a town where they will actually be welcomed instead of vilified.
