In newspapers articles he has stated that he would lower the property taxes a job that was done very well by mayor Stewart in spite of the opposition he faced by the Democratic minions on the council.
He would correct the blighted properties issue an action he attempted to do, while he serving as a city Alderman, which had to be corrected by the Stewart administration during it’s term in office.
Improving educational quality if elected. While he was a state representative he and Rep. Geragosian did very little for New Britain’s needs for education. Even to the point that Geragosian admitted to the CPOA'S membership that other cities had more problems that New Britain when assessing funding for cities.
He stresses that New Britain has many vacant stores placing blame onto the Stewart Administration and not to the real problem maker “President Obama.”
He opposed the sale of Saint Thomas Aquinas and the Costco deal and now he has reversed his position on these two issues in his statement that appeared in the city Journal this past weekend.
Mr. Obrien appears to be running against Mayor Stewart who happens to be retiring from office.

It is no different than the "blame Bush" mentality in Washington.
Democrats have no record that they can run on because their record is that of one program after another that was a dismal failure and it is the Democrats who have put us into the mess we are in now, so the only thing they can cling to is an attempt to blame the other side for their own anti-American socialist policies.

The man is a CHARLATAN! Pure and simple. If you read his comments in the NB City Journal, all he can do is blame Stewart. He has no plans for anything. He will simply cause an increase in property taxes by "giving away the store."

You made very good points but you forgot to mention his supporting the sick leave bill that hurt small businesses to where they can not hire more employees or replace those that have left their jobs.
Don't forget all the massive tax increases he voted for at the state level.

Regarding your posts in the Herald being removed; somebody reading your Herald posts clicks on the "Report Abuse" icon.
They register their objections to your post and the Herald removes it. That is the Herald's policy, - way of reducing the number of nasty posts or those the a candidate may not appreciate. If nobody objects, the objectionable posts remain. You should write a letter to the editor of the Herald for publication in the paper. Very few read the on-line comments.
Democrats Allow Blighted Property to Stand

Back in August the NB Common Council Democrats, with the exception of Emmanuel Sanchez, voted to squash yet another development project within our city. Community Builders Inc. had presented a plan to develop the blighted Aquinas building on Kelsey Street.
Their proposal included the creation of duplex and town house style buildings that would have provided 91 bedrooms of housing, including multiple units set aside for senior housing. After years of complaints about the blighted eyesore one would think the NB Common Council would be relieved to have a solid proposal on the table.
That, however, was not how Alderman Trueworthy felt. He took the chance to lob vague accusations and complain about the lack of multiple proposals, saying “Something wasn’t done right. The plan is not right or it was not put out right.”
This is despite an explanation from Ken Malinowski, director of municipal development, who said the site had been advertised throughout the state and several interested parties had toured the facility. But, he went on to explain, the cost of rehabilitating the site, including asbestos removal and demolition, would be over a million dollars.

To do any of the things that Mr. Anon. (above) claims "Obie" can do, one needs to come prepared with ideas. O'Brien's next idea will be his first!
As far as jobs are concerned, CT has about a 15% unemployment rate. O'Brien has helped keep this rate steady by taxing its residents - and businesses - to death, growing the size of state government and approving lucrative union contracts for state employees. Change? Yeah, RIGHT!
