They may as well just hand over their keys if Lopes gets elected, since he will get into their drawers in one way or another.

Really? Let's see: while an alderman in New Britain Lopes was cited for not paying his NB taxes and was cited for same by the Board of Ethics. Eventually, he paid his taxes and was then allowed by the "all Democrat" Council to write a letter of apology for his ethical lapses -WOW. now that's action for you. that's the "real world" for you. Now he runs his cleaning business out of his parents' house in West Hartford - yes sir, he knows how to represent New Britain.

Worked as a legislative aide to State Sen. DeFronzo for 8 yrs. and now works for him as a "project manager" in the DoAS at the Capitol. While an aide to DeFronzo, Lopes was caught on camera rifling through a GOP State Rep. aide's desk ; punishment? he was on paid leave for a couple of weeks. I guess it "pays" to be DeFronzo's lackey.

Lopes supposedly got Greg Gerratana, then aide to State Rep., Tim O'Brien, to use his state computer to send nasty e-mails about Mayor Stewart to the local newspaper, etc. The word at the tim e was that Lopes was behind the plot but that Greg took the fall for him. Greg was given a two-week suspension.

When DeFronzo was given his commissionership he took Lopes with him to be a project manager - what project (s) is he managing? Oh yes, Lopes sure knows how the "legislative world" works, especially the legislative world a la DeFronzo! I don't think that even the Working Families Party would endorse Lopes.

On the contrary, Lopes is exactly the type of person that the The working Families Party would endorse. This should give you a good sense of just how corrupt and morally bankrupt the New Britain DTC is.

For those of you who don't recognize what is happening:

The Gulag was the government agency that administered the main Soviet forced labor camp systems. The Gulag is recognized as a major instrument of political repression in the Soviet Union.
