Do you think the mayor or any of these other useless bureaucrats would think differently if this officer were attempting to save one of their children?

The administration is answering many letters or correspondence. It's difficult to figure out exactly what is going on down at city hall but considering this mayor has a dedicated communications person....

Perhaps Alderman DeFronzo will want the city to mount a committee to investigate the Mayor's failure to respond to this incident in a timely manner. Oh wait...

Must have been one of those sticky's that fell off the wall of the mayor's trusted assistant. Since the entire city is run by a bunch of sticky's pasted on the wall, things like this can happen.

Moody's Downgrades State Bonds; Malloy Chief Complains
GOP's Cafero Says Malloy Response Is "Very Defensive''

WAIT UNTIL MOODY'S DOWNGRADES NEW BRITAIN'S RATING BECAUSE OF THE RADICAL SOCIALIST POLICIES THAT ARE SURE TO DESTROY ANY CHANCE OF ANY ECONOMIC RECOVERY IN THE CITY. IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T HEARD, SOCIALISM IS A DISMAL FAILURE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT HAS EVER BEEN ATTEMPTED, AND CONNECTICUT IS ABOUT TO FIND OUT THE HARD WAY.

BLIGHT ORDINANCE / NEW BRITAIN CT

Sec. 7-40. Declaration of policy.
This article is authorized pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes, section 7-148(c)(7)(H)(xv).

It is hereby found and declared that there exists within the City of New Britain a large number of real properties which are vacant and in a blighted condition and that the existence of such vacant and blighted properties contributes to the decline of
neighborhoods.

It is further found that the existence of vacant and blighted properties adversely affects the economic well being of the city and is inimical to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the city.

It is further found that many of the vacant and blighted properties can be rehabilitated, reconstructed, demolished and/or reused so as to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing and ancillary commercial facilities and that such rehabilitation, reconstruction, demolition and/or reuse would eliminate, remedy and prevent the adverse conditions described above.
(Ord. of 11-00)

Sec. 7-41. Creation or maintenance of blighted premises prohibited. No owner of real property located in the City of New Britain shall allow, create, maintain, permit the continuance of, or cause to be created or maintained any blighted premises.

NOTE : As more and more landlords simply walk away from their properties, the city will become the biggest slum lord owning all these rat traps.

NOTE :Will the city help the landlords evict tenants who do damage to their property. As anyoone knows this a long process with out any rent money being paid.

All Landlords should come to the meeting on February. 2, 2012 at the Belvedere Resturant at 5:30 p.m. It is being sponsored by the Conneticut Property Owners Alliance, Inc. You all have rights as a landlord. We need everyone to come out to state what the current landlord/tenant rights are.

Does it mean that all New Britain police officers will stand back and let ems handle the emergency mouth to mouth no matter how long it takes them to arrive at the location?

I guess No'Brien doesn't want his police saving lives. Maybe they will be better suited to be our arresting people for violating the new blight ordinance since saving lives no longer is their responsibility?

Board of Finance and Taxation? Do we have one of those? What is going on down at City Hall?

Candidate Newt Gingrich on 01/20/12 is Friday's morning’s hero for "We the People" not because he’s a spousal saint but because his well-aimed shot at the mainstream news media, the Fourth Estate shattered their glass ceiling reporting.

In effect, the Newt Gingrichset comments set- "We the People" free from the lies of the Obama Administration—the stream of lies of president being trotted out daily by the main stream ‘journalists’ as the “news” of the day, the "news" of week, the "news" of month.

The New Britain Police Union Demands clarification of workers compensation.
After the heroic handling the 10 year old problem the Administration screwed up again by advising the officer that he is not covered for his CPR claim which took almost forever for him to obtain a reply.
Today's Herald has both the Mayor and Sherwood backtracking their original comments.
Hypocritical don't you think?

Since liberals despise the police, is anyone surprised that the radicals in city hall would take such an anti-police position?

The aftermath effect is that 2,160 Boeing unionized employees are going to be given pink slips, when Boeing Aircraft announced it would shut down its unionized plant in Kansas City.

Some of these unionized jobs in Kansas City might have been be saved had Boeing been allowed to go ahead with its original plans for moving its operations from Seattle, Washington to South Carolina.

They did move 400 jobs to a maintenance facility in San Antonio Texas where they will provide regular maintenance for Air Force ONE. Even Obama knows that if you want the job done right, you have to get it done at a non-union facility!

Sherwood's statement in the paper makes this case even more bazaar!

He basically says that performing CPR is absolutely part of a police officers job, but the city stands by their original statement that if that officer is injured or becomes ill from a contagious disease, the city is simply going to turn its back on the officer by vehemently opposing the worker's comp case. Basically he apparently is saying that these officers are absolutely expected to do this, but they are completely on their own should something happen.

I guess the message emanating from the mayor's office is that these police officers should simply let these people die in the future?

14% of the voters put these guys. Live with it. Shame on everyone for not voting or helping get the right people in.

The mainstream News Media can no longer be allowed to take factual events and turn them into the journalistic equivalent of bomb-shelter Twinkies, devoid of any genuine intellectual substance.

One would think after the rise of the Fox News Network that other media organs would take note that the average American does not want leftist-slanted “news coverage.”

Rathergate proves this, i.e. when CBS anchor Dan Rather reported on President Bush’s supposed wartime Air Force service avoidance with transparently falsified documents. The public was outraged when this faux journalism of Dan Rather came to light.

This rightly resulted in the indignant Dan Rather’s end at CBS as a TV News Anchor. But apparently socialists never learn his and their lesson from Rathergate.

Not to defend the actions or should I say inactions of this administration Frank, but the "boiler plate" response the officer received did not say that that he was not covered for doing CPR during the course of his duties. The officer affected by this inferred he would not be covered.
There is no claim here except for a possible exposure and the city paid for the officers testing that was negative. If he were to contract a bloodborne disease from this exposure then another claim would have to be filed and then the city would fulfill the obligations but there are presently no issues with the officer. What they failed to say is that the Ryan White Act (Federal Law) protects people from exposures to disease from bodily fluid contact. All the officer had to do was invoke this law and he would have gotten the answers he desired and not have to go to the press for answers which incidentally was a dumb move that only succeeded in gaing press for the officer in question. He should be commended for attempting to save this boys life which was the right thing to do especially if one is already certified to perform that function, there is an obligation under the law to perform your duties commensurate with ones training. Just thought you should know Frank.

Communists and socialists have always despised the police. They seem to believe that you should be able to do whatever you want, sex, drugs, etc. and there should never be any consequences. Drugs should be legal and actually provided for free by the government. Knock a girl up as many times as you can, she can just keep getting free abortions provided for again by the government. Their disdain for the police seems to follow the same "do what you want and never suffer any consequences" mentality. No one should ever be held accountable for their actions--ever no matter what they may do.

At this point in time-the Dan Rathergate/Bush story can relate to the New Britain Police Officer Who Tried To Save Dying Boy's Life as Sherwoodgate!
