People routinely getting gunned down in the streets, drug dealers everywhere, robberies and burglaries off the charts and out police will be tied up chasing shopping carts around the city. Sounds like something Sherwood would dream up!
I wonder if all the people in line awaiting for their food share allotment will get arrested for having a cart for carting their two week supply.
Bill O'Reilly matter-of-factly called San Francisco a communist place tonight on his show. I wonder what his opinion of New Britain would be?
If you ask me this entire measure is a racist attempt to target minorities. When you drive around the city tomorrow, look around and see what racial group or groups are the overwhelming majority of the people using shopping carts, so now we have an administration ordering the police to target that group, and then watch the cases that are going to miraculously be developed from the targeting of people with shopping carts that turned out to also be in possession of drugs, wanted for other crimes, or even illegal aliens facing deportation, and how many of these people do you think are going to be white?
I would think that the depleted staff over at the PD has better things to do than picking up shopping cart violators. How are these people going to pay for this infraction? With their can monies? This administration will stop at nothing to get a day in the press Frank how sad!
Imagine the huge outcry if Tim Stewart were to propose such a blatantly obvious racist round up of the poor?
Maybe the Chief should invest in one of those shopping cart corralling tractors like they use at Walmart. He could replace the flashing yellow light with a blue light and a siren, and then the officer assigned to shopping cart duty could respond code 3 anywhere in the city there is a heinous shopping cart crime reported!
