New Britain Police Department - Unsolved Cases

The state's attorney's office recently reported that they will not even look at a cold case because Danny Boy Malloy cut their budget to the point where they can no longer effectively operate. I guess that saves Danny Boy the trouble of opening the front gate and letting what he calls these "productive members of society" out of jail.

I guess even I can agree with old Danny Boy that spending all the money to lock them up only to have Danny Boy turn them free makes little sense, so why even bother solving the cases if Danny Boy plans to simply set them free?

Faced with continuing cuts to help balance the state budget, the chief state prosecutor's office is no longer taking new "cold cases" to aid local police in solving homicides.

Chief State's Attorney Kevin Kane made that admission Wednesday in testimony to the legislature's budget-writing committee that is deliberating over Gov.Dannel P. Malloy's proposed $2.75 million cut to the agency in the next fiscal year.
