Donovan DOES want to raise the minimum, eventually, when no one is looking or paying attention, like those damn pesky small business owners.
Another one of those "mistakes" that was uncovered, so now that they have been caught, the Democrats deny they intended to do this instead of admitting they are trying to totally destroy businesses.
Chris Dumbovan was quoted as saying that the committee simply made a mistake by posting the bill with this provision included in it. What I really think he means in translated Democratspeak is that they made a mistake by letting the restaurant owners know that Democrats were about to stick it tight up the restaurant owner's poopers. It looks like the Democrats were going to pass the new law "Pelosi style" where you first need to pass it in order to find out what's in it, and they got caught using this sleazy tactic!
Restaurant owners need to start bending over to take it from the Democrats. First they forced you to give sick time to your employees and threatened you with arrest if you interfere in any way with their use of it, now they are going to make you double their pay, and when you have to jack up your prices to stay in business, you will be painted as greedy rich people.
Callers to John G Rowland's talk show seem to be of the opinion that if these restaurant workers get this huge pay increase, there will no longer be a need to tip them since we will be paying the much higher prices for our food to fund the doubling of their paychecks.
You mean the extra money to pay these people the higher salaries won't simply come from the rich people who own these restaurants?
