Frank:

I read this column today in the Courant (Opinion Section). Although short, it is the most analytical and insightful treatment of the teacher tenure controversy that I have seen thus far.

Do they really expect the public to feel sorry for them? Who else in the public (the public who is paying their huge salaries I might add) is guaranteed their job for life and can never be fired no matter what they might do?

Time to return to reality!

I'll believe it when I see it. Since Danno is bought and paid for mostly by union money, it is highly doubtful he will go against his union bosses--his real owners. When it comes down to it, he will dance whatever dance his union bosses tell him to--like a puppet on a string. Dance Danno, dance!

Poll driven empty rhetoric, nothing more. The Courant knows this and so does the teachers union. When it comes to protecting their political power, the teachers union has a well defined line that no Lib Dem, and few Republicans, will ever dare to cross.
