Former Alderman Strikes at the Heart of the O'Brien Administration

It has been only five months since Tim O'Brien was elected as Mayor of New Britain. In those five months O'Brien's administration: has denied/controlled public access to information by muzzling certain employees of the various city hall departments, e.g., the Director of the Water Dept.; has, through actions of Communications Director, Phil Sherwood violated executive session protocols of the BOE - Phil Sherwood tried to gain access; has appointed an elected official to a commission - Peter Spano to the CCND; has allegedly threatened an elected member of the BOE - through a member of his office staff that any thought of a future political career was now DOA because she didn't vote the way he wanted for the new Superintendent of Schools; has hired a law firm that was very generous to his campaign for Mayor to validate any actions take so far that appear to violate our city charter - what's wrong with using NB'S own Corporation Counsel Office?

This was the administration that was going to be open and transparent in its dealings with city hall employees, NB citizens and the Common Council. I believe the people of New Britain, especially any voters - for O'Brien - that read and ask questions, will rue the day that they voted for O'Brien. One of the most spineless and unforgivable things that any Chief Elected Official of a city state or country can do to try to fix blame for anything that is perceived as wrong to their predecessors. The taxpayers of New Britain will see more financial tricks from this O'Brien's administration before July 1, 2012

It appears that O'Brien and his henchmen have done little more in their stewardship of the City thus far, than to try to validate their actions by blaming everything they perceive as wrong on the prior administration of Mayor Stewart. Before long - I hope - the people of New Britain people will realize that they are being hoodwinked by this bunch of charlatans.

Lou,
The lies and blame game seem to be no different than what Danny Boy Malloy and Barry Sartero do every day. Slimy Palms has some radical mentors to follow.

Wasn't there comment made recently that Mayor O'Brien should dismiss Phil Sherwood for his unwanted entrance to the Board of Education executive session?

Lou: You have again hit the head of the nail. One will wonder what O'Brien will do about the tow positions that Mr. Spano holds in violation of the city charter.

Mr Spano has been around city government long enough to know that elected officials are not allowed to be commissioners. He is as much a villain for accepting the illegal appointment as Derwood is for offering it. They should be equally be held accountable.

The worst part is the Obrien administration KNOWS this is illegal- they told Tom Talalaj on numerous occasions he could not be on a board because he is an elected official.

Let's also not forget the appointment of a Police Commissioner who owes years of back taxes along with her elected Alderman husband.

Can't make this up!

At least Spano finally paid his delinquent property taxes after making the delinquency list for a second time. That is more than we can say for Alderman Rah-Sheen Brow..

The people who vote these communists into office again and again deserve the destruction that they reign down on the city. It is the spend and tax attitude of your elected representatives that caused me to leave New Britain. I am now in Bristol Tenn. and although I normally only read the comments on here this time I couldn't resist commenting after reading about all the crap those commies have been pulling. Now I look back and laugh my butt off at the huge tax increases you people are stuck with at the hands of all these jerkoffs you vote in to office. I live in a town run by conservatives and I pay only $1200 a year in property taxes for a house that would sell for $350 to $400 thousand. When I left Conn. I was paying over $10 thousand a year for a house that would be considered a hillbilly shack in my new neighborhood. Now I look back and think it is funny as I watch you crazy people compete with Illinois and California for who can bankrupt and destroy their state first. My money is on you wackos in my former home state. You have one fan rooting for you.

NEW BRITAIN - The Democratic Town Chairman of New Britain obtain his published "vigliante-like" information on Superintendent of Del Rico school district, Mr. Kelt Cooper from an article published in the Texas Observer magazine by said communications director Melissa del Bosque,

NOTE: The Texas Observer is a progressive monthly magazine and daily website that covers issues ignored or underreported in the mainstream press.

Progressive is code word for communist.

"Under reported" is liberal code speak for a license to make shit up.

With these liberals it is now "racist" to support our country.

Here in Alamo Heights, TX, a group of students were silenced and then disciplined for chanting "USA, USA, USA" at a basketball game. The children were quickly silenced and face severe discipline by the school board for chanting "USA" because it was claimed to be a racist chant since the Alamo Heights High School is made up of mostly white students and Edison High School is mostly Hispanic--many of them here in this country illegally. It is now racist to support the United States simply because you might offend people who are committing a crime by being here and stealing their education from the taxpayers? What is even more disturbing is that Puerto Ricans are going along with this race baiting, but just wait and see how long it takes Democrats to leave them behind too--since they have the nerve to be born American citizens. If Democrats have their way, how long will it be before you will be required to cheer "Viva La Mexico" at sporting events and other assemblies in your community?
