My guess is that Eva Mushbrain didn't even understand the question and was just asking what she was told to ask--like the puppet she is.

DEL RIO HERALD NEWS
ONLINE POLL:
Do you want San Felipe Del Rio CISD Superintendent Kelt Cooper to stay or leave?

THE MAYOR OF DEL RIO, TEXAS, AND FORMER SUPERINTENDENT OF DEL RIO SCHOOLS, ROBERTO FERNANDEZ STATED THAT WHILE SOME IN DEL RIO ARE SURPRISED TO SEE COOPER LEAVE, MAYOR FERNANDEZ IS NOT. "SUPERINTENDENTS, CITY MANAGERS AND FOOTBALL COACHES MOVE ON," HE SAID. "IT'S THE NATURE OF THE JOB. YOU COME IN, FIX WHATEVER NEEDS FIXING, LEAVE AND GO ON TO THE NEXT ASSIGNMENT"

If anyone knows the Del Rio school district better than Kelt L. Cooper, it’s Del Rio's current Mayor Roberto Fernandez. He been town's mayor for two years now, and spent 38 years working in the school district. He served as schools superintendent from 2003-2008, until handing the baton over to Mr. Cooper.

I did the same thing he did, Mayor Fernandez said, referring to Cooper’s Hands-on Policy of sending school staff to the International Bridge, which connects Mexico and Texas, to see if young people were heading to neighborhood district schools.

The Del Rio Mayor pointed out that when he did the district Hands-on Policy of residency as school's superintendent, the CNN 2009 Cable News story didn’t pick up on what i did, Mayor Fernandez said.

I guess it was bad timing for Kelt Cooper when he did the same thing. Cooper was just following law of Texas, Mayor stated. To go to our schools, you must be of school age, be a resident of the district and reside with a parent of guardian in town of Del Rio.

On the day of NB Board of Education decision, the process received a disturbing jolt of information about Mr. Cooper that did not turn up during the vetting process, stated NB Chairman John McNamara on his POLITIS Website.

We found out about it from a retired New Britain music teacher with her passionate advocate for education, who posted on her Facebook page a disturbing story in the Texas Observer magazine about Cooper's tesidency Hands-on Policy on the Mexican border.

If Cooper has spent his entire career in pro-American Texas, coming to New Britain will probably be his first time being exposed to America hating communists calling themselves Democrats.

Dianne Trevino is the career and technical education director for the district of Del Rio, Texas. In her role, Trevino oversees Del Rio’s vocational programs. She said that when Cooper started in the town “he expected students to apply to community college or four-year colleges.” Cooper has made higher education an issue not only in words, but also through financial support by paying, for example, for field trips to colleges and licensing and certificate opportunities, she said. “There has been an increase in secondary education since he’s been here,” she said.

Echoing the sentiments of many, Elizabeth Hanson, a parent, said, “He’s very approachable. He has an open-door policy and he will hear you out.” For Juan Nunez, the district’s performing arts coordinator, Cooper was instrumental in beefing up the music program school by school. “Very few superintendents are musically inclined,” said Nunez. “Creating a elementary strings teacher was his idea. He also got us two dance teachers. Theatre and the arts is a big part of Del Rio’s schools.”

Steve Hoffman, the head football coach for the district stated that, “the football program exploded under Kelt Cooper, We had 1,200 seats added to the stadium. He also gives a heck of a warm-up speech before a game.”

On his NB POLITICUS Website Chairman John McNamara stated, that the New Britain Board of Education put their faith and money in the IA-based firm of Ray & Associates. But when crunch time came the firm's consultant had concluded the information about Cooper's controversial and excessive "enforcement" actions were irrelevant to New Britain's superintendent search.

However when this search for a superintendent ends, it is clear Board of Education members were denied an important piece of information that should have been known during the screening process, not on decision day.
