This idiot must think he is the mayor of fantasyland!

His own finance board says it will require a 34% tax increase to maintain the same level of services. Unless you believe these socialists are about to stick it to the unions with massive layoffs and demands for givebacks and pay cuts, there will need to be a huge tax increase to fund the same level of services.

A promise from a Democrat is like they say in Texas, as useless as teats on a bull!

We need leadership like we once enjoyed under Tim Stewart instead of the socialist bozo that is in that office now:

Mayor Timothy Stewart had declared taxes wouldn't rise. By the time Stewart's budget passed in June, he'd slashed expenses and boosted other revenues sufficiently to wipe out the proposed increase and keep the 36.63-mill tax rate steady.

If you read the article you are left wondering if the mayor is Tim O'Brien or Phil Sherwood. You are also left wondering who works for whom?

I guess the mayor must be planning on cutting at least half of the teachers to accomplish this fantastic promise that there won't be a tax increase. But then again, who would even notice or miss them anyway?

He's going to increase the size of the police force by 37 officers, "pump tons of money into the school system" and honor all union contracts with raises, and no tax increase. How is this going to be possible, unless he is going to borrow Obama's printing press?

Folks. Derwood at el took $10.5M from the Water Department. Stewart's budget was balanced IF O'BRIEN continued the cost cutting that Stewart was able to accomplish. The 37 cops won't hit the books until next year's budget while the $10.5 M is immediate. There will be several millions of dollars in surplus by the end of the fiscal year.

Frank they are going to join the states co-op on healthcare and claim to saver milions in the process. Fact is this will not happen, all it will do is mandate the costs for the city and not provide any flexibility to keep the excess budgeted monies for healthcare should that happen.
Increasing the size of the police force will ultimately add another $3million to the budget and the increases he promised to the BOE will also add to the bottom line!
Unless the city hits the Megamillions jackpot this guy and his mouthpiece are smoking crack!

The council approves the budget not the Mayor. So be prepared for a hefty tax increase.

Hey Timmy Boy, the public can see right through your phony baloney budget scheme. You can put lip stick on a pig, but in the end it is still a pig.

Then where is Stewart's structural deficit?

The folly continues.....
