New Britain Schools Need State Takeover -- Courant.com
One can only surmise that Phil Sherwood got Stan Simpson to write this article since Don Stacom would not write such a ultra liberal opinion for Phil.

Wonder who was responsible for the demise of the article in the Courant.
After about 14 hours on the front page, it disappeared into the New Britain news on the back pages.
Now,less than twenty four hours, it is no where to be found!
My guess is that Stan feels like a jerk for writing it. He should!
So giving the clueless dummy of a mayor total power over the school system would be the cure all for what ails the failing schools? Do the mayor and his wife still send his stepson to an out of town school?
How can someone with no stake in the game even understand the problems?

Pina and Saavedra have already allowed the Board of Ed to be taken over by Sherwood and O'Brien. S&O will be calling the shots from now on.

This point that Sherwood and O'Rien have taken over the BOE is right on. Saavedra who is outspoken and a "no nonsence" kind of women has chose to keep her mouth shut as to the threats made by Sherwood is hidng beyond to "executive session" cloak of secrecy. This is a lot of crap.What happened to the spunky womenthat ONCE was themost resoected DEM? She is gone. And as far as Pina. He is another person that was ONCE was well respected.
Now both of them are letting their character and reputation be destroyed by "little" Mac and Sherwood.
