The Continuation of the Blame Game..

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Louis Salvio said it best when he stated " Obama blames Bush, Malloy Blames Rell, O'Brien Blames Stewart."

Most believe that Big Bertha Lewis, of the Working Families, is running city hall but when in reality she is at the Governor's office telling his aid to tell New Britain Democrats what to do and when.

It is amazing that they are telling Mayor O'Brien to Blame former Stewart for all the ills they imagine by being all his fault, when in reality Mayor O'Brien is a Democrat and certainly knows that all the budget approvals during Stewart's tenure were approved with a Democratic majority control council membership.

So, Mayor O'Brien, you should be blaming your "Comrades" and not Stewart.

The Myth of the Sherwood virus the "Structural Budget Deficit".

What is even more remarkable is that this "Structural Budget Deficit" virus was only recently discovered in New Britain, CT, but once found in one city, is now found in city after city throughout the U.S. and Canada!

This new virus referred to as the "Structural Budget Deficit" is now rampant in every town & city throughout the nation.

And, here in New Britain the embattled Finance Director Bob Curry was fired when he came under scrutiny over the size of the city's Structural Budget Deficit of $30 million dollars for the upcoming 2012-2013 budget year.

Now, the continuation of the Blame Game for this virus is now shifting from Bob Curry and now
targeting the Ex-Mayor Stewart's administration.

Stewart Varney did an editorial about this blame game mentality this morning and it applies to O'Brien the same way it applies to Obama.

Varney said that it demonstrates anything but leadership. When you are elected, you are supposed to take over with a clean slate and offer your solutions to fix the problems. That is what the people who elected you expect from you.

Blaming someone else for your own dismal failures is not only demonstrating a total lack of leadership, but it is also childish and petty--2 qualities we have come to expect from O'Brien's Assistant Chief of Staff.

We all expected Sherwood to be rewarded for the water dept raid, we just didn't expect it to be so obvious. Now we need to know what A.C.O.R.N. got.

What is Obama's structural budget deficit?

A STRUCTURAL BUDGET DEFICIT is VIRUS crafted by government policies & politicians ?

How do state's and/or municipality control their Structural Budget Deficits?

1. Cut & control spending by cut-backs & give-backs.

2. Raise revenues (usually through tax increases).

3. Neither of these two options are not too appealing for politicians and governments, which is why many Structural Budget Deficits continue to linger and linger as a virus.

Budget deficits can lead to increased debt loads, which in turn lead to even higher deficits (due to the interest paid on the debt that is outstanding).

We think it is a shame that the Hartford Anti-Poverty Agency, the Community Renewal Team (CRT) headquarters in Hartford, CT conducted a program meant to serve so many folks in need - has some many questions lingering over it's head.

The CRT programs include Head Start, Meals on Wheels, Energy Assistance, Shelters and "Supportive Housing."

It's just another possible example of our great state that we have come to refer to as CORRUPTICUT!

With a final budget due to be passed in June 2012, there is plenty of work ahead for the Mayor and the Common Council to avert cuts and jobs losses of frontline, direct service employees in the City of New Britain. Losing 130 municipal positions is unacceptable if the current level of services is to be maintained in the City.

Good faith bargaining by Council will be needed to help the City get through a fiscal crisis that will persist from 2012 into 2013 fiscal year and beyond.

NEW BRITAIN — Citizen Dwight Blint has started an online petition drive to rescind the promotion and salary increase of one of Democratic Mayor Timothy O’Brien’s chief aides.

Mr. Blint said he is outraged that Phil Sherwood, who went from O’Brien’s "Communications Director" to his "Deputy Chief of Staff", had his salary upped from $45,000 to $60,000 annually when the city is considering possibly laying off more than 100 workers.

Rosemary Klotz, O’Brien’s chief of staff, has said the promotion and pay upgrade was necessary because Sherwood was taking on more responsibility and working more hours.

Faltering State of Connecticut income tax widens the State Deficit and threatens Gov. Malloy's budget for coming year. And, unless tax receipts reported by nonpartisan legislative analysts improve, Malloy's budget plan for next year -- including a state employee pension fund fix and increased education aid to towns -could be out of balance now and headed for more than $500 million in red ink by 2013-2014 budget years.
