Why is this a headline?
What else would a former campus police officer and current
public servant do?
Stacom tries to make it sound as if the woman was about to die before she was struck by the car, almost as if getting hit by the car didn't matter.
How did he help her after killing her with his car ? Oh he called his wife, city hall, lawyer, and then the police. Look Roy is a good guy (for the most part), and this is a horrible thing to happen. But the Herald should not make it a fluff peace to sway peoples opinion. Report the facts of the news, not play spin games. And if I may repete myself I LIKE ROY, HE IS A NICE GUY, however if this was a city republican or former the Herald would be calling for the removal and conviction of them. My prayers and condolences to the victim, her family, and to Roy and his for what the future will bring. May he find peace with what has happened. accedints do happen
Imagine how the story would have read had it been the former mayor driving the same car?
