" This is a disgusting article. Our new superintendent has to have a special meeting with African Americans?

How about just regular, taxpaying citizens of New Britain, whoever they are?

There isn't an African American, Polish American, Italian American, Irish American that it is more important than am I. The plight of all New Britain citizen taxpayers is the same.

Alderman, the Rev. Rha-Sheen Brown wants to feel Cooper's heartbeat! How about mine?

Where and when does this trash stop? As soon as we figure out that we're all in this together, the better off we might all be! "

Obama and the White House in 2012?

If President Barack Obama’s bid for a second term is going to be successful, he faces a long, hard fight, according to a new Newsmax online poll. The survey of more than 2 million respondents found that only 28% plan to vote to re-elect Obama for a second term.

Respondents expressed widespread dissatisfaction with Obama’s policies, specifically his choice to give amnesty to illegal aliens and his healthcare reform plan that removes some $500 billion from Medicare.

When he took office Governor Malloy seemed to have figured that if he could just raise taxes enough to close the huge state budget - gap dumped on him by the General Assembly. But that hope has collapsed.

Because the Governor's own budget, touted as restoring solvency, was reported to be running a deficit of nearly $300 million, and the record tax increase he and the General Assembly's Democratic majority imposed last year has only weakened the state's economy. And Tax collections, particularly income tax collections, have fallen far below estimates.

An ever growing government must by necessity grow in expanding its revenue (called taxing to the uninformed) and therefore can be very creative in methods for taxing and names for said taxes. Since the phrase “cut spending” is not found in any dictionary or book owned by politicians, the only recourse is to increase revenue.

Of the more than 50 different taxes that exist today on federal, state and local levels, here are a few more familiar and common taxes. Federal income tax, sales tax, bridge tolls, sales tax, commuter tax, dog license tax, gasoline tax, Social Security tax, seven different taxes on telephone usage, and the list continues on and on and on with user fees!.

These posts don't relate to Lou's letter. Council member Rasheen Brown requesting a meeting with Kelt Cooper to address african americans? WTH is this coming to?
All we need to know is whether Mr. Brown and his wife have finally paid their taxes and whether Mrs. Brown's appointment to the police commission has assisted Mrs. Brown with her student loan debt. That's all anyone really needs to know.
