If you are a state employee on vacation and you get sick during your vacation, you simply call your boss and tell him to change your time card to reflect sick time instead of vacation time for the days you were sick so that you can save the vacation time for another trip. Every state employee gets 15 sick days per year, 12 to 18 vacation days (depending on years of service), 14 paid holidays and 3 personal days. All but the 3 personal days are banked if you don't use them, so when you retire, you can cash them out for thousands of dollars--some of which increase your pension for life!

If you are a state employee, aren't you on vacation even when you are at work?
