A recent Hartford Courant article declares nine School districts have requested to start turnaround plans early which included the New Britain's Board of Education.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

The New Britain School Board membership, apparently based on the Courant article, decided to contact for information regarding this turnaround plan being offered by the state according to the Education Commissioner of the state of Connecticut, Stefan Pryor.

Astonished turn of events by the actions of the board membership this report illuminates when Dr. Cooper has publicly stated "He is concerned with the threat of the school intervention by the state citing he believes the school system should remain autonomous.

Since it has been reported that Dr. Cooper's arrival in town will occur next week why couldn't the board membership await for his input before having New Britain's name associated in the Headlines "Nine School Districts as to start turnaround plans early?"

Was this action in compliance to our state representative Bobby Sanchez requesting Governor Malloy to intervene?

You could fix the schools overnight simply by getting rid of the unions. We need real leadership like the Governors of Wisconsin and Indiana to rid us of the cancer called unions.

Boy, this non-union Coke that I bought at Walmart is delicious!

In addition to the poor writing of this editorial I am astonished Mr. Cooper would say no to money from the state, essentially forcing local property taxpayers to foot future bills.

Money isn't the answer, especially since it only ends up going to greedy bloodsuckers also know as union teachers!
