If the American electorate doesn’t shake itself out of this stupor in which it is currently wallowing and come out swinging like the people we like to think we are, we are going to lose our liberty, our individual freedom, and our country.

Martin Luther King, Jr. in his final book has a chapter titled "Where We Are Going".

In his final book "Where Do We Go from Here": Chaos or Community? (1967) Martin Luther King Jr. wrote...I am now convinced that the simplest approach will prove to be the most effective - the solution to poverty in America is to abolish it directly by a widely discussed measure: the Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI).

The Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) also called Citizen's Income, is a system of social welfare provision that guarantees that all American citizens or families have an income sufficient to live on, provided they meet certain conditions.

Eligibility is typically determined by citizenship, a means test and either availability for the labour market or a willingness to perform community services. The primary goal of a Guaranteed Minimum Income is to combat poverty.

If the Obama Administration and his fellow Socialist/Marxist/Progressives (who camouflage themselves as democrats) in the US government aren’t sent packing from White House in November; we fully expect the next step in securing a socialist state in America is a guaranteed annual (minimum) income for every American engineered by the Obama Administration.

why would anyone bother to work anymore?

Like Representative and soon to be Senator Chris Murphy said "elect us into office. You ain't seem nothing yet".

Talk is cheap. Let's start getting conservatives elected at the federal and state level.

People must be marketable, productive and be a willing contributor to the economy to be "guaranteed" anything. If you are a taker with no marketable skills and have never contributed to work (cycle of unbroken poverty) faggitaboutit!

Brooking Institute study on poverty and wealth in order not to be broken:

#1 obtain a high school degree
#2 get a job
#3 get married after the ripe old age of 21
#4 have children

the chance of being in poverty is 2%.

Do any of those four things out of order? The poverty rate jumps to 78%.

And our federal, state and local governments (ie liberal politicians) encourage the breaking of these four simple rules by being everyone's financial daddy.

And if you read The Herald today here in New Britain our wonderful mayor is poised to extend 600K in housing down payments that may or may not have to be paid back. Add to this a GMI and life is good in the neighborhood. What ever happened to working for something?

If you are a homeowner, you do have to work for something. You will soon need to get a second or even a third job to pay all the taxes needed to fund O'Brien's giveaways as he continues to give your money to people he believes deserve your money more than you do since you have more wealth than they do--even if they never worked a day in their entire lives.
