" This idea of a humane commission is very noble. What is ignoble is the behavior of people who own pets and allow them to breed and then, faced with more pets for which they cannot care, the newborns are abandoned and become feral or are killed inhumanely.

Then our Mayor's Deputy Chief of Staff, Sherwood, makes assertions he never backs up, e.g., the proposed amendment is consistent with the City Charter and other ordinances. I challenge Sherwood to show which part of the Charter and which ordinances. Get prepared taxpayers. When somebody is hurt in some way by any impounded animals, the city will pay.

Then Eva M., "the dog advocate who speaks for dogs because they cannot speak for themselves" will wash her hands of the problems.

Where and in what part of the Municipal Budget will the funding be found for this commission? Come on Phil and Common Council members, show the taxpayers. "

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "New Britain Takes Step Toward More Volunteer Help ...":

The City of New Britain CT has a "Structural Budget Deficit", and the taxpayers will in time now pick up the tab through more taxes and less spending by the City's Democrat control Common Council.

And to add to that, the City of New Britain will face higher interest rates on general obligation municipal bonds for things like schools, roads and infrastructure.
