Anonymous said...: I notice that the Courant failed to report that this candidate is not only another fine Democrat, but the Democrat who defeated Ernie Newton in the primary on Tuesday, you know the Ernie Newton who went to prison for taking bribes and was now seeking re-election to the same seat he held when he was convicted of taking bribes and sent to prison--another fine specimen of a Democrat. Kind of reminds me of the lack of any follow up by the press on a fatal accident in which a New Britain Alderman was involved in--apparently another case the media doesn't seem to see fit for reporting since it was one of their beloved Democrats involved.

BRIDGEPORT —
A 29-year-old Bridgeport Democrat running for the state House of Representatives was charged with leaving the scene of a car accident a day after winning a primary.

Police said Christina Ayala was involved in an accident in Bridgeport on Wednesday night, left the scene and was flagged down by a witness who followed her, according to the Connecticut Post. She was charged with evading responsibility, failure to obey a traffic signal and failure to renew her vehicle's registration.

Police say no one was seriously hurt in the accident.

Ayala did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday. She declined to comment when contacted by the Post. Police said she told officers she left the scene because she was scared of a man who was yelling at her.

Anonymous said...: In case the Courant would like to learn how to fairly report a story, here is how the Connecticut Post reported the same story in which the Courant saw it unnecessary to report that this person is a Democrat:

BRIDGEPORT -- State House candidate Christina Ayala, who won the Democratic primary Tuesday night in the 128th District, is facing several charges after police said she fled the scene of an accident Wednesday night with two minors in her car

Police said Ayala was involved in an accident just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of North and Briarwood avenues.

She was charged with evading responsibility, failure to obey a traffic signal and failure to renew her vehicle's registration and was released on a promise to appear in court, police said.; August 16, 2012 at 9:56 PM
