The Consolidated School District of New Britain has many problems that the Board of Education is working on and that need its immediate attention. Low Test Scores, Poor Attendance and the never ending lack of sufficient dollars in the budget. We now have to face the moral problem of distributing condoms In the High School. This is a proposal of the Policy Committee chaired by Carlos Pina and supported by Aram Ayalon of CCSU. There has been a refusal to share any supporting documentation for handing out condoms.
The limited documentation presented to support this proposal for handing out condoms in High School has all been dated 2008 and earlier. There are several agencies in New Britain that hand out condoms to whomever asks for FREE. There have been outrageous claims that 95% of the students of NBHS are sexually active. This is completely not true. Estimates are that10 % might be sexually active. It has been stated that there are at least 50 young women attending the High School that are pregnant. Checking with employees at the school there are currently 6 or 7 young women that attend the “Young Mothers Program”
In order for a student to receive the services of the Health Clinic at the High School a parent must enroll the student. What is NOT told the parents is that once this is done they have NO say, and are NOT privileged to know what the type of service their students receive. (Government Law) Whether they receive counseling on abortion or tested for any STDS (sexually transmitted decease) the parents sign away all rights to access information on their student.
The School District has had a curriculum called Human Growth and Development that has been in place for approximately 15 years in grades K thru12. In that program it promotes abstinence is the only practice that can prevent STDS and early pregnancy. The program teaches age appropriate information.
The handing out of condoms will increase sexual behavior.
On November 5 the Board of Education will vote on whether to adopt this new Policy of handing out condoms. Everyone that is concerned for the direction that Arom Ayalon and Carlos Pina want this district to take should come and voice their opinion against handing out condoms.

AMEN its is about time someone from the BOE spoke out.
Handing outcondoms is a direct attack on parental rights. If anything this would increase and sexual behavior in the high school.
The Board President told a local newspaper that members of the church should not take the(board's) survey (on condom distribution).
What church is she referring to?
will I be allowed to speak at the meeting since I am a member of a
local church?
If I am allowed to speak, will my opinion be discounted in any way, because I am a member.
Will Mr. Sanders be asked to rescue himself since he is a member of a local church?
The B.O.E. Leadership should reconsider what it is doing before it ends up unintentionally violating the civil rights of people who don't share it's liberal views.

Mrs Saavedra said that " if you belong to a church you should not take part in the survey". Is this women off her rocker ? This is a free country and I can take part in any survey I wish. I believe that Mrs. Saavedra is a Catholic and was married in church.
The problem with handing out condoms is school is giving the students to wrong message. It tells the students that it is OK to have sex before marriage.
Who is this Carlos Pina, I have not heard of him before. He must be a new member of the BOE. He should know that he is on the BOE to getting better test scores etc.
These liberals don't care about individual civil rights. Under this communist regime, we are all supposed to be subservient to the big government to run our lives from the cradle to the grave. Big government has been responsible for mass exterminations of people many times in history, so be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
Mr. Pina's first term was by appointment. He was hand picked by the N.B.D.T.C. to fill a vacancy.
The Board President at that time, described him as having no experience so, it's safe to assume that he was picked purely for his vote.
I believe he was subsequently elected to a second term.
Interesting sleight of hand: in order to allow your kids to get free condoms, you first must permanently waive all parental rights and allow radicals in the school board to dish out birth control pills like Chicklets and give your 12 year old daughter as many abortions as she can get knocked up for, and it is no longer any of your concern or business how many abortions your 12 year old gets because you no longer have the right to know what these wacked out liberals are doing with your daughter--it is none of your business.

What is Pinas motive ? The only reason that he got elected is because he is a DEM Sad but trye.

I believe he is a "plant" by the DTC ans Saavedra went along with it because she still wants the nomination for the 24th assembly district. She is willing to sell her soul for that seat and on her way she screwing the district with Pina.

We sent Mr. Pina all the way down to Texas to gather information on The School Superintendent and all he did was embarrass our city by asking the locals if Mr. Cooper was a racist.

According to Sanders letter you all need to come oon Nov 5 and voice your displeasure with Ayalon and Pinas support of handing out condoms at the High School.

There is nothing wrong with Miss Stewarts furthering her political future. All that was being said is that sanders is the only one that speaks his mind all the time. Stewart usually trys to be political correct. At least on TV when the BOE is being shown.
Sanders and morals should not be used in the same sentence! The man is a sneaky slimeball! Just because someone has been on the board and qualifies for a pension doesn't make him a man of integrity with morals does it? I'd be willing to bet that most if not all of the posts her supporting him are from either himself or his wife!

Imagine, if the schools hadn't opened Wednesday, hundreds of New Britain students could have been out of condoms by now, and we can't expect them to provide for themselves, or worse yet to endure a couple of days of abstinence!
After all they're only children!
When is the B.O.E's Democratic majority going to begin providing home delivery of condoms to our students during unscheduled school closings?
Isn't that the type of government service we pay taxes for?
