Businessman Scolds the Common Council

Mr.James Sanders Jr. in addressing the Common Council members, during Public Participation, by referring to the Special Council meeting that was held last week and calling it outrages as a back door method of legislating new fees.

Also referring to the hotspot legislation with his asking how do you expect the landlords to pay for the actions of their tenants?

Ending his comment by stating that the bottom line is that council is hurting the elderly and students as tenants with your new $150 fee for each apartment unit.

So what cuts is Mayor O'Brien budget looking at?

This measure of fees on Landlords is projected to raise $1 million & the shortfall was $4 million? That’s a difference of $3 million but the mayors added another fee for calling the police that’s supposed to raise another million so there’s a deficit of $2 million out there.
The mayor’s now enbracing the increase of all fees it collects to eliminate the $2 million deficit, but is that realistic.
How about a special fee for processing section 8 benefits? And how’s he paying all those new police officers he was talking about hiring?
And how much in blight fines has the city collected so far? Or has the city just taken over these properties and thus taken them off the tax rolls?

This sanders jr is a "chip off the block"

I can remember him tagging along with his father when his father was coaching football, He would strut up and down the practice with his whistle around his neck yelling "do it again`".HJe learned well from his father about doing the right thing.

Imagine if even one of the Democrats on the council owned property or paid taxes?
