Why Phil Sherwood should follow Roy Occhiogrosso’s lead by leaving. One of Governor Malloy’s top aides, Roy Occhiogrosso, announced that he would be leaving at the end of the year. Occhiogrosso, who has been one of the Governor’s top defenders was paid $160,000 in salary last year and Malloy said that his departure would help the Governor’s office consolidate duties and cut costs.

This is a good thing, since it was recently revealed that the State’s deficit seems to be rising out of control and drastic cuts are needed. Maybe Mayor O'Brien's office here in New Britain should try a similar tactic. We have pointed out the similarities between the state’s budget woes and the budget woes of New Britain and also the similar tactics employed by both Governor Malloy and Mayor O’Brien.

Perhaps this would be good time for the Mayor’s spokes-person Phil Sherwood to follow Occhiogrosso’s lead and resign from his post. Not only would it save the Mayor’s office a great deal of money, it would also help to restore some integrity to the Mayor Office. Because there is one difference between Occhiogrosso and Sherwood; Occhiogrosso hasn’t made it a habit to blatantly lie to the public and the media.

If people really want to see Sherwood resign....they need to get together and ask for it in public audience of a council meeting....if at least 15 people do it, the herald will be forced to publish it....
we all know the City Journal will report it because it believes in honest reporting...

Having Sherwood run the mayor's office is like turning the keys to the city over to a 12 year old.

A 12 year old may be giving a lot of credit where credit may not be due.
