And while I'm commenting equity in education is not about MONEY! Adequate funding for schools is dictated by the state (allegedly)so anything above that is considered excess. Giving a system more dollars to spend certainly has not translated into results in NB has it? All that has happened in NB and other urban areas is more spending on salaries and benefits for its unionized staff. Giving people more money and not holding them acountable for any results is a recipe for failure! Just my humble opinion!; March 9, 2013 at 12:01 PM

He demonstrated that some of the school systems that spend the most money per student had horrendous rates of failure with less than 50% even graduating while some of the poorest schools in the nation also had the best graduation rates in the entire nation.

Unions had more to do with schools being disastrous failures than money did because where teachers could be held accountable, they performed better, while in school systems where teachers were guaranteed their jobs for life, there was absolutely no incentive for teachers to even do their jobs because they are guaranteed the same pay whether they perform or not.

Get rid of the unions and you will improve your school overnight.
