I totally agree with Robin. Tim O'Brien is a petty and spiteful man, and this is just another example of it.

He truly is a disgrace.

I was at the meeting last week and the mayor gave credit to Robin for getting it off the ground last year. Say what you want about the mayor but I don't think most of us expected to hear that from him bout her.

No one person owns Halloween and Robin is missing an opportunity by walking a way.
Tim O'Brien made it clear at the meeting she was invited but she obviously refused to show.

The Mayor mentioned Robin because Gerry Amodio asked him to. How do you expect Robin to react? It was a sneaky politically motivated move by SheBrien.

Yes, Robin "got it off the ground" last year - without a dime of taxpayer money, I might add. It was her vision and her hard work which made it possible.

This event is for the kids, it should not be politicized nor should it be a government run function. It's a community achievement, not something politicians should attempt to use to hurt those who oppose Tim O'Brien.

This is all about Tim O'Brien being a vindictive and easily threatened person. The little bit of power he has as mayor has allowed him to show his true colors.

The Mayor invited Robin only after excluding her and sending out a letter to every but her, after she had already scheduled and announced a planning meeting. There is no reason this event needs to be paid for by Parks and Rec, it was run though the generosity of local businesses and private organizations last year.

So the extra cops on the beat, the traffic division shutting down streets and public works employees putting up barricades amounted to no expense from the city?

Public works employees did not put up barricades....there were 3 officers there....the CSO's directed traffic for free.....compare that to the cost of just parks and rec overtime this year....it will cost taxpayers plenty more this year.

Maybe Robin is right to be upset, I don't know. But her paper makes her sound like a whiny 14 year old.

I mean, her paper reads like a facebook post.

I will be bring my children to New Britain and could care less if the city hall says they are spending money. It's a worth while event to spend some money on.

sounds like a liberal doesn't like a paper that actually reports the truth.

Of course you will Phil because you don't care who pays the bill.
