Oktoberfest Eight Year Deal Raises Charter Questions

Eight Year Contract with the Oktoberfest promoter that is being forced upon the next administration may be in direct violation of the city's own charter which only allows items to continue onto the next administration such as contract negotiations with the unions, construction contract still not finished, insurance plans for city retirees that may have been changed.

Using very smile "arithmetic" one can easily see that Mr. Augustino will reap 90% of the profits. Sounds like another raid on taxpayer dollars. Does Mr. Augustino live in New Britain or he he simply another out of towner benefitting from the actions of our inept Mayor. I know he owns a restaurant here but that's it.

Here's another failure of an event for NB! Hiring Anne Pilla to coordinate volunteers? Why because she is friends with the bif fat one in the mayor's office? Next he will be announcing that Leslie Jacobs wil be selling seats for the events and getting 5% of the profits? WTF

The City is fortunate to have someone with Nick Augustino’s vision and commitment to support the economic revitalization of New Britain

Quote from Mayor Tim Stewart from a few years ago. Press release on this very blog
