Anonymous said...: I bet you would be surprised to find out how many barber shops in the city are operating with unlicensed barbers. When Waterbury Police did a crackdown, because it is a crime to cut hair without a license, they found dozens of unlicensed shops. When will the New Britain Police do a similar "sting" for the safety of the public? This is something that can be done under existing state law. Anonymous said...: 12:27 state law already requires a license to cut hair and failure to have one is a crime. We don't need a city ordinance for the police to enforce the state laws that already exist. Practicing as a barber without a license is punishable by 30 days in jail or a $100 fine, or both!
