Democrats Have Problems In Washington and New Britain

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Nationally, Democrats are in a dither; Senate and House Democrats are scrambling to try and make sense out of Obama’s flip flopping and courting of Republican Senate leaders while Biden twiddles his thumbs and while Susan Rice sits muted in a corner while Obama meets with Senators McCain and Graham. Obama is not meeting with any Democtats to discuss his Syria mess. Even NBC’s Stephanopoulos and Gregory are beside themselves doing their, stammering routine of  “ abba” and don’t know what to say
Here in New Britain,  Democrat Aldermanic candidates like Roy Centeno, Dave DeFronzo, Mike Trueworthy, R.S. Brown and others are stupefied because they have indicated when being profiled for the Herald that Obama is their choice for the USA’s greatest President. They’ve also indicated that their proudest vote was in voting in support of O’Brien’s stupidity ridden budget that is loaded with false revenue projections. They also supported O’Brien’s lie that NB taxpayers would see no increase in taxes.

It is also rumored NB Democrats are most worried about their Candidate for Ward 5 Alderman, Roy Centeno’s reelection chances. Rumors are that this is because Centeno is one of those that has indicated that Obama is the greatest President and also that his proudest moment as an Alderman was voting for O’Brien’s faulty budget that includes a tax increase for most taxpayers. Also some rumors are that for Centeno being personally involved recently in an unfortunate and fatal automobile accident is still fresh in the minds of many voters.

The Democrats‘ dirty tricks brigade has been busy on my Blog bashing former Alderman Lou Salvio who is one of the two opponents Centeno will face in November’s municipal election.

I wish dumbocrats swould leave Salvio alone although I am not surprised because he is always attacking them.

This won't make me popular here but Ill say it.

Democrats deserve all the bologna they get because they are mean.

So does Lou and for the same reason.

Speaking of that fatal accident, didn't the police investigation seem to simply go away like magic? No follow up by the press. Imagine that?

Frank:

I ask, what makes a person mean and others, not mean?
Please, give me an answer.

I is never my intent to hurt anyone for their opinion ... that being said give me the same latitude.

Please don't equate my being direct and confrontational with being "mean." I've said it in the past and in public and I repeat it now, "you may misinterpret what I say but don't put words into my mouth." That is what is "mean."

Lou is honest. Like him or not, he tells the truth. I stand behind that!

The fact that they are attacking Salvio so hard means they are scared he is going to defeat one of their radical extremist candidates. If I had such an abysmal failure at the head of my ticket, I would be running scared too.

No follow up story? Or are they still investigating?

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH/AP) — New Britain officials say a city councilman was the driver who struck and killed a woman walking on a city street over the weekend.

"She was going to the store to buy some stuff for the church, for a festival they were having at the church for Easter Sunday," said Robert Reyes.

Reyes is talking about 57-year-old Juana Diaz, who crossed the intersection of Slater Road and Jerome Drive around 8 p.m. Saturday. She was just a few yards away from her apartment when she was struck by city councilman Rolando Centeno.

"My mom lives here," said Reyes, whose mother was a neighbor of Diaz. "She told me she had got hit by the car. By the time I got here, and took her brother to the hospital, she was already dead."

Centeno, a former Central Connecticut State University police officer, blew a .000 on the intoxilyzer.

Newington police were called in to administer the test because Centeno is a high-ranking city official.

Centeno released the following statement: "I was involved in a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian who, sadly, suffered fatal injuries. The police are investigating the accident. At this time, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim."

There is a city council meeting Wednesday night, although it is unclear whether Centeno will be there or not.

Meanwhile, family and friends remain shocked that Diaz life was taken so close to her home.

"She was a really nice person, really kind, kindhearted person, a good neighbor to my mother, Reyes said. "She was always over here having coffee with her, and we're going to miss her."

New Britain police are handling the investigation, but News 8 is told once the investigation is complete, they will send it to the Connecticut State Police, to make sure everything was handled properly.

I'll bet Lou pays his taxes too!

It comes down to who you trust. Not whos "mean". That's just childish.

I trust Lou 10k x more than anyone on our current Council or in the current Administration.

It's just that simple.

Great point! With Lou Salvio you never have to worry about knowing where you stand!

I would also bet Lou has never had a tax lien placed on his property. I don't know for sure, but I believe he is of too much moral character to not pay his taxes, especially when he was on the city council. There is something about elected officials being expected to set an example for the rest of us to follow--isn't there?
