The Adverse Political Scene in New Britain

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL

Unfortunately, information has surfaced that a former mayor and his cohorts are going around the Broad Street area, commonly known for its polish heritage,   advising all who would listen to their fabrications that the Republican candidate is too young to run the city as Mayor.

Historically, Democrats here in New Britain are known, to bend the truth with an outright fabrication without hesitation, in support for their carpetbagger mayor whose work history is very limited of being a food bagger at a grocery store.

The twenty six year old Erin Stewart has earned a degree from CCSU compared to O’Brien’s who didn’t finish his first semester.

She has lived in New Britain all of her life and loves the city.

O’Brien proudly accepted the endorsement, together with some members of his slate, form Bertha Lewis the president of The Working Family party and infamous Acorn Organization known for election corruption.

Socialism is alive and well in New Britain but, it will hopefully come to an end when Erin and her slate gets elected in our "next city election."

We need some young blood in our government. The establishment is to old and out of date with old ideas that no longer work in today's world. Age discrimination is also wrong.

Would that be the same former mayor that owes about 3 years in back taxes on his house?

Frank:

If you're talking about Lucian P. it's not difficult to understand that he has moved to a new low. Perhaps O'Brien has hired him to do this since Lucian has no job and no skills and is in a bad way financially. A new low for the once proud Mayor. Would like to know who are the cohorts.

I guess the mayor is proud to have a person who owes roughly $18,000 in back taxes going door to door speaking on his behalf. Doesn't the fact that he doesn't pay his taxes make him a better Democrat anyway?

Occhiogrosso is taking a shellacking in the Courant about his oozy contract supposedly received through influence of his buddy the governor and yet there is still no mention in the press of his $100,000 reward here in New Britain!

She isn;t too young but she acts too young. The vulgarity and smack talking this woman does is unbelievable.

You think she is a friend of yours? wait till she gets a few drinks in her and you're not at the table anymore. WOW

I'm voting for Erin but oh boy aren't you right about her talking the smack and real negative shots at people who you'd think are her friends.
Maybe she'll grow out of it but I also don't really blame her. Her father is the same way and it's just the way they are. I'd vote for her over a bad grocer any day though!

Why all this focus just on the race for mayor? For example, new britain is one of two cities that elects its tax collector. I think Waterbury is the other one.

I've had my door knocked on twice from Greg Gerratana campaign workers and he will be on the ballot twice because of the Working Families Party. Think about this....Zsabo almost beat her two years ago (like under 20 votes) and now someone is actually working etc etc etc. We could lose the tax collector position if we just talk about Erin!

Lucian is only worth about 200 votes

No one could talk smack better than her father, but yet he was 1,000 times a better mayor than the yo-yo in that office now!

We need to get Phil Sherwood to leave New Britain,(and hopefully the state), permanently. The only legal way to do this is to defeat our carpetbagger mayor and our Lib Dem council members, at the polls.

Even if Sherwood and O'Brien are defeated, it will take years of hard labor to erase the ugly stains of communism and corruption they will have left on our once beautiful city.

True about Tim Stewart but it may have been a contributing factor to him losing the Senate seat. Regardless, people hold women to higher standards. It's unfair but we know it to be true. I man can tell someone from the across the bar to go f*ck themselves but look differently if a woman does it. I;m not saying I agree with it but it won't help her like it helped her father, if it did at all.

Any Gerratana campaign worker who knocks on my door, does so at his/her own risk.

If the dog doesn't bite, the kids will.

How do you know Lucian is worth 200 votes?

He might cost O'Brien votes for all we know.

Either way he walks all over her in the next election and we will have a new tax collector to.

I intend to vote as I always have. For the first time in my life, I will not vote for either mayoral candidate. I blame the Republicans for not nominating a more experienced candidate. Do you take us for fools?

I have heard no mention in these blogs about why she dropped out of UCONN where she started. Many people know. Her father's potty mouth might have kept him from a state job. Think about it. How many times can you hear the F word in one sentence without cringing?

Democrats are the party of serial posters and tax delinquents!

Most tax collectors in Connecticut are elected. Because so many tax collectors are elected, the state legislature is reluctant to impose restrictions such as educational requirements on elected officials. However, in 1999 legislation was passed to require continuing education and re-certification of tax collectors who have earned their certification under state statute.

" have heard no mention in these blogs about why she dropped out of UCONN where she started."

Maybe because she didn't like the school and transferred to CCSU?

God some of you people are so shallow it honestly kills me to even know that I associate with some of you.

Erin graduated CCSU - Why did O'Brien
drop out or did he flunk out?

Ochiogrosso"s firm receives no bid
Contract for $100,000 by City of New Britain- Was Foley correct?

Gerratana chastised by O'Brien for
using State Computers and now he is enbraced by O'Brien- Greg has shown his character- Do we need him as our Tax Collector?

Great Choices in Upcoming Election

Frank why do you allow this kind of posting to happen on your blog? Cowards that cannot put theirnames on posts when they are being critical and accusatory towards others deserve nothing! What bothers me the most is some of you who pretend to be friends with Tim and Erin are what has become the typical New Britainite, backstabbing phoneys that care more for themselves than this city! Who cares if someone swears or drinks or even smokes pot? Does it really bother you? You losers need to get a life!

It's called freedom of choice. Frank gives us the option to post anonymously. I don't know whether he moderates some posts but I know he has let all my comments, some positive and some negative to go through.

I hope he continues because I want to know what other people are thinking or saying even if I don't agree with them. Otherwise we end up with a sort of thing that Robin has created which appears to most objective people to be a whitewash and omission of anything that might be positive on the current administration. AT least Frank lets both sides share their view.

Erin graduated. Tim attended one semester which he may or may not have finished depending on which account you read. So which one is qualified to run the city and which one belongs bagging groceries?

Personal attacks against candidates such as are found at the end of this post by Mr. Smith serve no purpose other than to abuse peoples' personality, physical or other traits. They serve no intellectual purpose in this venue and are simply emetics.
If anyone craves that kind of reading, they should find a tabloid and gorge themselves on the material therein.

Lou, we're tired of you. Really tired.

Who are the "we're" of which you speak? Are they also anonymous? At least Lou uses his name on his posts. Yes, Frank is to be commended for allowing anonymous comments, like this one.

I understood the "we" to mean the local communist regime.
