If the people stay silent and let this guy remain in office, then they deserve everything they get.

Totally agree with the Editors of the Courant and may I add a passage from ancient History that does apply"

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;
So let it be with Caesar. The noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault;
And grievously hath Caesar answer'd it.
Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest, —
For Brutus is an honorable man;
So are they all, all honorable men, —
Come I to speak in Caesar's funeral.
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honorable man.

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

To commenter # 3, Frank Smith;

Given how she handled the situation , " … the lady" , in this case, Mayor Stewart acted admirably; the fact that she did not have him arrested, gave Trueworthy the chance to do the honorable thing, to wit, resign himself from the Council without being prodded.
The passage from Shakespeare's, "Julius Caesar" that was referenced by Mr Smith goes further: when Marc Antony was showing the wounds on Caesar's body to the mourners, , he showed the Brutus' stab wound and said " … the was the unkindest cut of all". I liken Brutus to Dave DeFronzo who was one of the Dems ready to throw Trueworthy under the bus summarily.

Dave "mini me" DeFronzo should never be mentioned with Shakespeare , he is a hack that does and says what daddy Don Says. Dave DeFronzo should be on a puppet show. Go back to blowing a whistle at 8 year olds to intimidate them. It's all you have.

To commenter #4, I believe in this case "the lady" is meant to be Trueworthy and his viscous protests of gays.
